1、Reading report of King LearAs one of Shakespeares four famous tragedies, King Lear proclaims what is the humanistic beauty and ugly. Just like some famous fairy tale, there is a perfect princess. Compared to that, there are several ignoble characters such as Goneril and Regan. The youngest daughter
2、of Lear, Cordelia has showed her beauteous personality. And I think comparing with the death of Hamlet, her death seems to be more noble but sadder.Let me talk about the princess through the story process. Firstly, King Lear want to decide who has the qualification to own his fortune and power. Just
3、 like one Chinese traditional saying “Good medicine for health tastes bitter to the mouth.”, and oppositely, some sweet talk is harmful to people. Just like Cordelia, such a honest girl who doesnt have evil thought to occupy her fathers wealth. Whats her most treasure is her family love between her
4、and Lear. Between love and benefit, Cordelia chooses love, but her older sisters choose benefit.What makes me feel a little bit delighted is that when Lear is betraied by his daughters, he started to feel guilty to Cordelia. A famous dialogue “Dark no matter how long, the day will come.” seems to be
5、 right because the beauty of human will defeat the evil of human. Even though there will be lots of sacrifices in the process of fighting for the truth. In King Lear, lots of people go away. For instance, Lear as the most important role in this drama, he dies in a extreme hopeless mood. Here I must
6、mention a person who is called as “fool” in the play. Before the death of Cordelia, Fool is already dead. Because of some mistakes by King Lear, the following tragedies happened. Talking about the original cause of Lears tragedy, I can find that Lear regards his vanity as most important as others. F
7、or Cordelia doesnt say some flattering words to Lear, therefore, Lear punishes her. What a pity it is! Even though Cordelia is not accepted by Lear, she is still loved by a good person, her husband. She is living in the world of love and hate. She is virtuous, obedient, but also stubborn. Due to her
8、 sincere personality, when Lear forces her to say some flattering words, she still insists what she really want to say. In my opinion, Shakespeare is a lovely writer. He always tell us valuable truth in his play. For example, in King Lear, the conflict and love between Lear and his youngest daughter
9、 Cordelia can reflect true love and truth cannot be covered when time passes. Even if Lear is not charming person, I dont think we can blame him too much for he is in a complex situation. In conclusion, Cordelia as the most beautiful person in this play, then she causes me to think a lot about love. Love is the most valuable thing in this world, especially when people are in trouble.
