I have to do my homework.【探究】 在表示请求帮助或请求允

7、许的疑问句中,常用 could 代替 can,以表示礼貌、委婉或不确定的语气,而 can 则不具备这些功能。这种情况下不能把 could 看作 can 的过去式。以上两句中用 could 都是为了表示礼貌的请求。表示请求帮助或请求允许时,除了 can, could 之外,还可以用 may,句子的表达方式也各有不同,可以用不同的方式来表示同一个概念。 (1)Could/Can/May I use your car for a day?(2)I wonder if I could use your car for a day.对于(1)、(2)句的答语,同意可以说“Yes.”/“Sure.”/“C

8、ertainly.”/“Yes, (do) please.”/“Of course (youcan).”/“Go ahead, please.”; 如果不同意,可以说“Im sorry you can t.”/“Im really sorry, but Ihave to use it today.”,要避免说“No, you cant.”,这样显得很不礼貌。否定回答通常用委婉的语 气。(3)Do you mind if I use your car for a day?对于句 (3) 的答语 , 可以说 “Of course not./Not at all.” 表示 “ 不介意 ” 。不能用

9、“Yes./Sure./Ofcourse./Certainly.”等。无论是在肯定答语还是否定答语中,要避免使用 could,要用 can 或 may。因为应答须用确定的语气,而 could 在表请求的问句中是为了表示礼貌或委婉语气,用在应答中则成了不确定语气,与情理不符,所以应答中不说“Yes, you could.” 或“No, you couldn t.” 而 要说“Yes, you can.” 或“Sorry./No, you cant.”Could I use your computer?Sorry, Im going to work on it now.Well, could I

10、watch TV?Yes, you can.“Could I/you?”表示一种有礼貌的请求或提议,其后接动词原形,该句型比“Can you /I?”语气 更委婉。类似句型:Would you like+sth./to do sth.?May I+do sth.?Shall we+do sth.?What/How about+sth./doing sth.?肯定回答有 Sure./Of course./Certainly./OK./Great./Well./Good idea./I agree. 等。否定回答有 Sorry/No, you cant. 等。Step 6 Practice(Gra
