Since most of you have spent at least six years learning English, you must be quite clear about these English terms;Key ingredients:

5、present simple, present continuous; present prefect; past simple; past continuous; past perfect; prefix, suffix, etc. Now firstly, lets have a review of what you have learnt and look at page 4. Lets finish the exercises together. Exercise 4 Give Ss a couple of minutes to finish the related exercises

6、 and then ask Ss to write down their answers on the blackboard.FriendsQ: Have you made any friends in your school years?Q: What quality do you think a good friend should have?Q: How do you usually keep in touch with your old friends?Q: Have you ever fallen out with a friend? If yes, can you tell us

7、the reason?Q: Why do you think friendship is so important to a persons mental health?I will ask Ss to discuss above questions in pairs. Then get feedback from the class.1. In pairs Ss tell each other if they have ever been in situations like the photos shown. Ss discuss what type of relationships in

8、 the photos show. Get feedback from the class. Suggested answers:In photo A we can see seven young people sitting on the ground very close to each other. Three girls even have their arms on the other three boys shoulders. All of them are wearing a smile on their faces. By the way there are also two

9、dogs in the picture, one sitting before them, the other in the arms of a boy on the right. I guess they are close friends having fun in the open air.In photo B, we can see two old women are sitting at a table with some glasses and plates on it. They are talking with each other over coffee. Clearly t

10、hey are old friends.In photo C, we can see three men are struggling for a rugby on grass. They are playing the game very happily. I guess they are good friends.In photo D, we can see two men are sitting and talking seriously. They may discuss something very important. I guess they are close friends

11、and colleagues.2. In pairs, Ss put these words into the four groups and encourage Ss to add more words they know to each group. Get feedback from the class and write Ss words on the board.Step 2 1.1 Whats normal?Preview: In this lesson Ss look at verbs/ adjectives and their dependent propositions an

12、d then listen to people talking about their lives. Ss then do a grammar analysis of auxiliary verbs. Ss also read text about men and women and share information about these texts.Warmer: In groups of three or four, Ss discuss the questions1-3 on page 6.Get feedback from class, asking Ss to explain t

13、heir answers.1. a. Focus Ss on the gapped 10 sentences, in pairs, Ss complete the spaces with correct prepositions from the box. Then, check answers with whole class. b. Divide Ss into several groups and ask each group choose five questions from Ex 2a. Then Ss ask each other the questions and write

14、down the information. Get feedback from the class by asking Ss to report on their findings.2. Focus Ss on the table. Play recording 1.1. Ss listen and write down the related answers next to the dialogue number in the first column. Ss compare their answers in pairs. Notes make money out of e.g. He ma

17、and finds the answers to sentences 1-3. Student B read text B on page 8 and finds the answers to sentences 4-6. In pairs, students correct Ex 8a.Ss discuss questions 1 and 2 in pairs. Monitor the conversations and take note of any errors. Get feedback from the class. Finally, write the errors on the

18、 board and encourage Ss to self-correct.Suggested answers: heart disease is the first killer to people in developed countries and Monday is the most common day for a heart attack. What is amusingly surprising to me is that British men buy presents for their partners after a quarrel and they do it se

19、ven times a year. As a boy, I eat a lot without caring about my weight. I watch TV whenever I have free time. After supper I tend to take a walk. As a girl, I dont eat much though I want to, because I care very much about my body or figure. I often force myself to go on a diet. I enjoy chatting with
