11、Ks aerospace industry is capable of producing the full range of aerospace products from civil and military aircraft(including helicopters) to missliles, satellites, and jet engines. It produces 2% of UK national output, accounting for 8% of manufactured export goods. The first powered flight in the

12、world was made by the Wright Brothers in the US in1903. When Englishman Frank Whittle developed the worlds first practical jet engine in 1937, the foundations had been laid for the three majoy branches of the aviation electronics.,Aerospace industry ,In 1936,The Rolls Royce Merlin engine became the

13、best-selling aero-engine of all time with 166000 produced. The first of the collaborative projects was between Britian and France to produce the worlds first supersonic civil airliner, Concorde. In 1980s,both Roll-Royce and British Aerospace were privatised by the Conservatives and have since been very successsful both in individual projects and in international joint-ventures.
