10、ated Equipment, to supersede AS 31371992, Approval and test specificationLuminaires (lighting fittings), on 1 January 2005. Until that date both Standards will remain current. The objective of this Standard is to specify minimum safety requirements for fixed general purpose luminaires for use with t

11、ungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps with a supply voltage not exceeding 1000 V. ThisStandardisidenticalto*,andreproducedfrom,IEC 598-2-1:1979,Luminaires, Part 2: Particularrequirements,Section 1Fixedgeneralpurposeluminaires,andincludes Amendment 1:1987. The clauses change

12、d by the Amendment are indicated by a single marginal bar, with a 1 beside it, set adjacent to the amended text. IEC has decided to apply a new numbering system, the 60000 series, to all its existing and future publications, including amendments to existing Standards. As a consequence, IEC has modif

13、ied the bibliographic references in its databases to accord with the new numbering system. All IEC publications issued since the beginning of 1997 will carry references in terms of the 60000 series numbering. Publications printed earlier than 1997 will continue to carry the old series of numbers. Fo

14、r example, a reference to IEC 60598 series of Standards will be to IEC 598 if the current edition of the Standard was printed prior to 1997. As this Standard is reproduced from an international Standard, the following applies: (a)Its number does not appear on each page of text and its identity is sh

31、t and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 1 000 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made. 1.2General test requirements The provisions of Section Zero of Publication 598-1 apply. The tests described in each appropriate section of P

32、art 1 shall be carried out in the order listed in this section of Part 2. 1.3Definitions For the purposes of this section, the definitions of Section One of Publication 598-1 apply. 1.4Classification of luminaires Luminaires shall be classified in accordance with the provisions of Section Two of Pub
