3、under the direction of the Power Electrical Engineering Standards Policy Com- mittee and is the English language version of EN 60 742 Isolating transformers and safety isolating transformers require- ments, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It was de

4、rived by that organization from IEC Publication 742 : 1983 which has the same title as that of the European Standard. This British Standard is Part 1 of the revision of BS 3535 : 1962 in two Parts. Part 2, which is published concurrently with Part 1, is the nationally produced standard on Isolating

5、Transformers for reduced system voltage. This Part of BS 3535 together with BS 3535 : Part 2 supersedes BS 3535 : 1962, BS 3052 : 1958 and BS 4435 : Part 1 : 1969 which are withdrawn. On page 2 of EN 60 742 under the heading Brief history. reference is made to common modifications. For the sake of c

6、larity. these have been incorporated at the appropriate places in the text of JEC 742 (1983): they are marked by a vertical line in the margin. The relevant parts of the original IEC text have been quoted as INFORMATION directly after the text of the common modifications. Attention is drawn to the f

7、act that the page numbers quoted in the text of EN 60 732, in relation to figures, are the page numbers of IEC Publication 742. These page references do not therefore correspond to the EN page numbers as shown in the shoulder heading ofeach page; all the relevant figures ma); be found by consulting

Details of the special national conditions that apply for CENELEC countries in relation to EN 60 742 are given in annex ZC (informative). Attention is drawn to the fact that the special national condition specified for the Lnited Kingdom i

17、The CENELEC Questionnaire Procedure performed for finding out whether or not IEC 742 (1 st edition-1983) could be accepted without textual changes, has shown that some common modifications were necessary for the acceptance as European Standard (EN). The Reference Document was submitted to the CENELE

18、C members for formal vote and acceptance by CENELEC.
