20、rs and similar portable cooking appliances FOREWORD This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand Committee EL-002 - Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances and Small Power Transformers to supersede AS/NZS 3350.2.9:1999, seven years from the date of

21、publication. During this seven year period either AS/NZS 3350.2.9:1999 or AS/NZS 60335.2.9:2002 may be used for regulatory purposes in both Australia and New Zealand. This Standard incorporates Amendment No. 1 (May 2004), Amendment No. 2 (June 2005), Amendment No. 3 (November 2005) and Amendment No.

22、 4 (October 2006). The changes required by the amendments are indicated in the text by a marginal bar and amendment number against the clause, note, table, figure or part thereof affected. Where an application date other than immediate is applicable to an amendment the date of application (DOA) is i

The objective of this Standard is to provide manufacturers, designers, regulatory authorities, testing laboratories and similar organizations with safety requirements designed to give the user protection against hazards that might occur during

It was established on the basis of AS/NZS 60335.1:2002. This part 2 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of AS/NZS 6

NOTE 1 When “Part 1” is mentioned in this standard, it refers to AS/NZS 60335.1. When a particular subclause of Part 1 is not mentioned in this Part 2, that subcla

NOTE 2 The following numbering system is used: subclauses, tables and figures that are numbered starting from 101 are additional to t

When a definition concerns an adjective, the adjective and the associated noun are also in bold. The numbering of clauses, subclauses, notes, t

To allow for additional material to be introduced by Australia and New Zealand, the numbers 201 to 300 are used to number furth

Additional annexes are lettered ZA, ZB and so on. This scheme has been introduced to reduce the likelihood of the IEC and Aust

39、Z for easy reference. Accessed by TAFE QUEENSLAND INSTITUTES on 20 Dec 2007 6 INTRODUCTION It has been assumed in the drafting of this Standard that the execution of its provisions is entrusted to appropriately qualified and experienced persons. This Standard recognizes the internationally accepted

40、level of protection against hazards such as electrical, mechanical, thermal, fire and radiation of appliances when operated as in normal use taking into account the manufacturers instructions. It also covers abnormal situations that can be expected in practice and takes into account the way in which

41、 electromagnetic phenomena can affect the safe operation of appliances. This Standard takes into account the requirements of AS/NZS 3000 as far as possible so that there is compatibility with the wiring rules when the appliance is connected to the supply mains. If an appliance within the scope of th

42、is Standard also incorporates functions that are covered by another part 2 of AS/NZS 60335, the relevant part 2 is applied to each function separately, as far as is reasonable. If applicable, the influence of one function on the other is taken into account. This Standard is a product family Standard

An appliance that complies with the text of this Standard will not necessarily be considered to comply with the safety principles of the Standard if, when examined and tested,

An appliance employing materials or having forms of construction differing from those detailed in the requirements of this Standard may be examined and tested according to the intent of the requirement

The essential safety requirements in AS/NZS 3820 that could be applicable to grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances are covered by this Standard. - Accessed by TAFE QUEENSLAND INSTITUTES

This International Standard deals with the safety of electric portable applia

NOTE 101 Examples of appliances that are within the scope of this standard are barbecues for indoor use; A1 breadmakers; contact grills (griddles); cookers

48、; food dehydrators; hotplates; portable ovens; raclette grills; radiant grills; roasters; rotary grills; rotisseries; toasters; waffle irons; Examples are illustrated in Figure 101. As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by

49、all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; playing with the appliance by young children. NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national
