2、nsile strength glass yarn filament backing, high tack and adhesion, low elongation, ability to strip cleanly and available in various colors as shown in 3.1. Tape may be either plastic film or crepe paper. 1.1 General. Material shall require no moisture, heat or other preparation prior to or after a
3、pplication to clean, dry surfaces. Shall not stain, etch or soften plastics or paints used in automotive applications. Shall remain pliable and tacky when exposed to temperature, moisture and sunlight conditions encountered in automotive applications. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved stan
4、dards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. FTMS-147 2.2 GM Standards/Specifications. GMW3001 GMW3059 3 Requirements 3.1 Color. Black: 9985292 Red: 9985294 3.2 Tensile strength, FTMS-147, No. 32: 35 kN/m width minimum. 3.3 Elongation, FTMS-147, No. 10: 6%
5、maximum. 3.4 Adhesion to steel, FTMS-147 No. 10: 450 N/m width minimum. 3.5 Form and Quality. 3.5.1 Shelf Life. Six (6) months minimum. Material shall pass all the requirements of this specification after aging material in the original container 90 days at 35C. 3.5.2 Size if the product shall confor
6、m to the following: a. Width, nominal 12.5 mm b. Total thickness, 0.20 mm nominal c. Length, as specified by the purchaser (Note) Note: Approximately 46 to 138 m. 3.5.3 Packaging. Tape to be furnished in evenly and uniformly wound rolls, adhesive side in, on suitable cores. 3.6 Test Procedures. 3.6.
7、1 Conditioning. The rolls shall be conditioned and specimens selected in accordance with Method 4 of FTMS-147. 3.6.2 Thickness. The adhesive thickness shall be determined according to Method 36 of FTMS- 147. 3.7 Identification. The following information shall appear on each container: GM part number
8、; manufacturers identification, part number and batch number; date of manufacture; and quantity and mass of material. 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 All materials supplied to this specification must comply with the requirements of GMW3001, Rules and Regulations f
9、or Material Specifications. 5.2 All materials supplied to this specification must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in th
10、e GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this specification number have been qualified by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification.
