14、0:1978 ii BSI 03-1999 Foreword This British Standard, together with BS 5000-17, supersedes BS 3979, which is withdrawn. It forms a Part of BS 5000 which, together with BS 4999, will eventually contain a comprehensive series of British Standards for rotating electrical machinery. No technical changes
15、 have been made, but three small frames (D56, D63 and D71) have been added. The dimensions specified are in general agreement with IEC Publication 72. Both dimensions and outputs for a.c. 3-phase motors are in accordance with CENELEC1) harmonization document HD 231 and for convenience Appendix A rec

A list of the contents of BS 5000 showing all the Parts envisaged in the foreseeable future is given in the general introduction and index which will be brought up to date as new parts are published. The contents of BS 4999 are given in Part 0 of that standard. A British St
