THSC Disposition of Comments on Proposed Tri-National First Edition of the UL 2556 Standard for Wire and Cable Test Methods 2. Substantive Changes in the Proposed Standard Summary of Topics: This
26、bulletin presents the disposition by the Technical Harmonization SubCommittee (THSC), with which UL agrees, of the comments received on the proposed tri-national UL 2556 standard. UL proposed the tri-national first edition of UL 2556 as ANSl/UL 2556 in the Subject 2556 bulletin dated June 21, 2004.
27、The proposal is substantially revised in this bulletin, including correction of the above-mentioned title to Standard Test Methods for Wires and Cables. The tri-national UL 2556 standard harmonizes the UL, Mexican, and Canadian measurement and test methods applicable to the flexible cord and power w
28、ire products that are covered in the standards currently being tri-nationally harmonized (UL 44, 62, and 83 in the US) and other wire products. COMMENTS DUE: May 16,2005 STP 83 Members: Attached in Appendix A is the THSCs disposition, with which UL agrees, of the ANSI canvass comments. STP 83 ballot
29、s for the tri-national standard were dated June 21, 2004 for return to UL by August 20, 2004. Appendix A addresses all of the comments received on the text of the standard. If in light of the dispositions indicated in Appendix A, plus the revisions shown in Appendix B, an STP 83 voting member wishes
30、 to change his vote, the member should respond to UL by e-mail, fax, or letter by May 16, 2005. If we do not hear by this date, the original votes will be maintained. If STP 83 concurs, the tri-national standard will be published as the Standard Test Methods for Wires and Cables, ANSI/UL 2556. In th
31、e initial ballot count, the proposal received a simple majority of affirmative votes and the required two-thirds majority needed for a consensus regarding approval as ANSI/UL 2556.
