1、【Title】Mr. Know All, written by William Somerset Maugham【Summary】He was chatty, he was garrulous, he was fond of making comments on whatever he saw or heard from. He was Mr. Kelada. But with a “golden heart” inside, he helped the passengers solve many problems. His wide knowledge, his generosity, his being helpful,

3、 can the passengers forgive him? The author Maugham told us this story to reveal that human beings are the most sophisticated and refined creatures on Earth. Never judge people from their appearances or rumors you have heard about them.【Personal Feelings】The author was prepared to dislike Mr. Kelada

4、 even before he saw him. When he first entered the cabin, he saw Mr. Keladas luggage and toilet things that had already been unpacked. The mans name and the sight of his things aroused a strong repulsion in him since he was prejudiced against all non- Britons, feeling superior to them. Descriptions

Not wanting to destroy Mr. and Mrs. Ramsays marriage, he told everybody that he was wrong and that the string was an excellent imitation. He gave Mr. Ramsay a hundred dollars. Later at that evenin

It was then that the author learned the truth. He was amazed at Mr. Keladas kindness and generosity. .To be frank, when I read the end of the stor

It does take a long time to really know a person. As far as I am concerned, what the author, Mr. Maugham wants to show us is that first impressi

Mr. Kelada who is described as a disgusting person showing off all the time and knows everything better than others, is in reality a considerate, brave gentleman. On the other hand, Mrs. Ramsay, whose modesty and good qualities no one questions, has been unfaithful to her husband. In a word, We cannot judge a person from his appearance just like we cant judge a book by its cover. “ Time reveals a persons heart.”. It does take a long time to really know a person.
