1、(1804-1864),NATHANIEL HAWTHORNE,纳撒尼尔,Nathaniel Hawthorne,A 19th century American novelist and short story writer. One of the founder of the American romantic novels and psychoanalytic novel.,Brief Introduction,He was Born in 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts. He was a descendant of a long line of Puritan
2、 ancestors including John Hathorne, a presiding magistrate in the Salem witch trials(塞勒姆女巫案). In the fall of 1821, he was admitted to Bowdoin College in Brunsweick. In 1828,he write his first novel fanshawe. In 1863, he published his last novel our old home.,He was hired in 1839 as a weigher and gau
3、ger at the Boston Custom House. He joined the transcendentalist utopian community at Brook Farm in 1841.
