And my topic is Guide to Techniques of Listening. As listening aims to test students ability to understand oral English i

2、n the form of conversations and passages,it requires a great concentration, swift reaction and flexible understanding.The listening materials are orally realistic and communicative, as a result, most of them are based on our daily life, including various common aspects like appearance, jobs, study ,

3、weather ,living surroundings, shopping, travelling, finding the way, doing ones homework, borrowing books, seeing a doctor, making a phone call and so on.II.Teaching AimsAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, my teaching aims are the followings:1. Knowledge objects(1)The Ss can g

4、et to know the testing points and requirements for listening.(2)The Ss can master certain techniques to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of listening.2. Ability objects(1)To develop the Ssabilities of listening and comprehending.(2)To guide Ss to set up effective listening strategies.(3)To tra

5、in the Ssabilities of studying by themselves.3. Moral objectsBy completing the task, the Ss are expected to increase their interests and set up confidence in skillful listening and comprehending.III.Teaching methods:1. Do some listening practices. Testing words, phrases and sentences by dictation.2(

6、r)Sorting and induction methods.3(r)Teaching and training methods.IV.Students analysisSome students do listenings all the time.However, they find it difficult to make remarkable improvements. So, this teaching plan will focus on the techniques to different kinds of listening materials,namely listeni

7、ng for main idea,judging and inferring, specific information, speakers intention, opinions and attitude. With these techniques applied and further practice, I hope students will make productive progress.V.Learning strategiesWe can do three steps in listenings, such as:pre-listening: Scan the questio

We need to have sharp ears to loc

When it comes to longer passage, topic sentence often lies at the very first few sentences or the last paragraph.For speech, news, arguments and exposition, topic sentences are more likely to occur at the beginning, while stories usually tell or enlighten

Sometimes we need write down time with year, month and date or telephone numbers, price, address, names and places, especially when we need to do a little bit calculation. It will help a lot

Whats the purpose of the speakers talk?(2010(c)Most importantly, we should try to make some breakthroughs from intonation. As intonatio

30、n reveals a lot about speakers feeling and attitude, such as joy, surprise, anger and doubt. Generally, rising tone indicates positive emotion like agreement and falling tone indicates negative. For example,I must admit I have learned much from the lectures given by Dr. Smith.What did I tell you?The

31、 answer What did I tell you ?does not really mean the speaker has forgotten what he said, but through the rising tone we can sense the joyful emotion or even pride he shows, thus we can infer he is actually pretty satisfied with the lecture as he expected. However, the falling tone may have opposite

Listening involves both physical and mental factors, students tend to get nervous while listening and when they fail to get some answers, they will be upset and not concentrated, which will largely affect the later listenin

35、g. So it appears to be essential for Ss to stay calm all the time and give up decisively and move on at once.IX. To improve listening is a demanding learning process, it requires students to practice intensively in terms of vocabulary, grammar, listening techniques and psychological quality. I believe,if we master the techniques I mentioned above and apply them in our listening training, we will doubtlessly make great progress and make better use of the language.
