32、, in conjunction with system cleaning, in order to reduce the general concentration of infectious agents.1.5.2 Emergency decontaminationThe reduction, to negligible or low concentrations, of known high concentrations of a specific contaminant such as Legionella in response to an emergency.1.5.3 Main

33、tenanceThat regular routine activity aimed at preserving the operational standard and cleanliness of equipment, which includes inspection, repair, preventive service and cleaning.1.5.4 Maintenance programThe assembly of relevant data and the setting out of a formal strategy and recording system for

Storage, distribution or use on network prohibited.S E C T I O N2O P E R A T I O NA N D M A I N T E N A N C E 2.1 SCOPEThis Section sets out minimum requirements for regular routine maintenance. It does not deal with emergency procedures applicab

36、le during outbreaks of legionnaires disease.NOTE: Further information on the maintenance of building systems is given in SAA/SNZ HB 32 and NZS 4302.2.2 GENERAL2.2.1 ServicingAll plant, equipment and components shall, unless otherwise stated in this Standard, be serviced and maintained in accordance

37、with the suppliers published requirements and best practice. Maintenance shall be carried out by competent personnel as described in Clause 2.6. Maintenance personnel shall follow the site safety and security procedures.Maintenance shall be implemented by the building owner or nominee in accordance

38、with the requirements of this Section, except that alternative maintenance measures may be approved by the regulatory authority. The equipment to be maintained shall be shut down while maintenance is being carried out to prevent particulate matter being passed through the system. Appropriate protect

39、ive gear complying with the requirements of regulatory authorities shall be worn. Where relevant, the requirements of AS 1470, AS/NZS 1715, AS/NZS 1716 and AS/NZS 2865 shall be complied with.NOTES:1Regular cleaning and suitable water treatment are considered to be effective measures as part of a mai

40、ntenance program for the control of the proliferation of Legionella in cooling water systems. Passivation and water treatment should be fully restored after system flushing, cleaning, disinfection or decontamination.2Guidelines for the use of personal protective gear are given in Appendix A.2.2.2 Pr

41、ecautions when using and storing chemicalsAll chemical products used, and their labelling, packaging, storage conditions, user instructions, hazardous signage and material safety data sheets shall comply with the requirements of the regulatory authority.NOTE: Care should be taken in the use of bioci

42、des, cleaning agents and any other chemicals in equipment such as humidifiers, spray coils and evaporative air cooling equipment. Chemicals, when entrained in the airstream, may be hazardous to public health. Suppliers recommendations, including material safety data sheets and other information should be obtained to ensure the proper use of chemicals.2.2.3 Access for maintenanceEasy and safe access for cleaning, inspection and maintenan
