14、ugar,Diphthongs,A diphthong is a glide (滑音) from one vowel to another and the whole glide acts like a long pure vowel.,Closing diphthongs:合口双元音 /eI , aI, I, u, au/,发此音时,口型由/向/滑动,下腭向上合拢,舌位随之抬高,e.g. face,rain,pay eight,obey,great,The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.,发/a/时舌从/a/朝/I/的方向移动:下颚迅速上移,
15、开口逐渐缩小.注意前一个元音/a/开口要大. 舌尖抵下齿.,e.g. time, high,height, die,dye, either,发此音时,开始舌位在 /:/与 /之间,然后朝/I/滑动,唇形由稍圆变为扁平.,e.g. oil, boil, boy, employ, oyster,发此音时,舌尖稍触下齿,嘴唇由发/时的松弛状态逐渐收拢,并向前突出.,The “oh, hello” sound,e.g. so,road, toe, soul, shoulder,发此音时, 从/a/向/滑动,双唇由张大逐渐拢圆缩小,舌后部逐渐抬起.常见的毛病是发前一个元音/a/ 时嘴张得不够大,导致发出
