1、Unit 2 Growing pains语法详解定语从句(n)关系副词引导的定语从句关系副词有when, where, why。1 1) when:修饰的先行词是表示时间的词，如：time, moment, month, day, year等,在定语从句中作时间状语。Do you remember the day when he was born?=Do you remember the day? He was born on that day.你还记得他出生的日期吗？Sunday is a holiday, when people do not go to work.星期天是假期,那天人们不
2、去上班。(2)where：修饰的先行词是表示地点的词，如:school, house, place, village等,在定语从句中作地点状语。This is the house where he was born.这是他出生的房间。She lived in Rome for a couple of years, where she taught English.=She lived in Rome for a couple of years. She taught English inRome.她在罗马住了几年,在那里她教英语。why:修饰先行词reason,在定语从句中作原因状语。Tell
3、 me the reason why you were absent yesterday.告诉我你昨天缺席的原因。(4)如果表示时间的先行词在定语从句中不作时间状语,而是作主语或 宾语,定语从句不能由关系副词when引导；如果表示地点的先行词在 定语从句中不作地点状语,而是作主语或宾语,定语从句不能由关系副 词where引导；如果先行词reason在定语从句中不作原因状语，而是 作主语或宾语,定语从句不能由关系副词why引导。以上情况下应该由 关系代词that或which引导。I will never forget the days which we spent together.我永远不会忘
