1、1.0 PURPOSETo define the procedureused to assess Finished Goods compliance to product and engineering specification and to confirm all design issues are closed.2.0 SCOPE2.1 This procedure applies to all factories in Asia currently supplying Finished Goods to Char-Broil.2.2 This procedure applies to
2、any products developed by CB New ProductDevelopment Teams (NPDT) and produced by factories in Asia.2.3 This procedure is applicable to the following conditions, but not limited to:2.3.1 New design models / concepts2.3.2 Existing models that are moved to a different manufacturing location.2.3.3 Exist

4、SPONSIBILITIES4.1 Product EngineeringAsia Operations Lead Organization for Engineering Pilot:4.1.1 Assign Engineering Pilot responsibilities by Manager, Product Engineering - Asia Operations.4.1.2 Conduct engineering pilot and provide report to CBNPDT, Factory Supplier and Operations TeamAsia Operat
5、ions for review via PDM Link.4.2 Operations, Asia Operations4.2.1 Perform or arrange to have performed the required product transit test and provide test report / results upon completion.4.3 Joint Responsibilities Product Engineering & OperationsAsia Operations4.3.1 Product Engineering and Operation
6、s TeamAsia Operations and Factory / Supplier to determine understanding of critical relationship of processes required to manufacture product.4.3.2 Review supplier metrology reports from off tool parts.4.3.3 Check drawings against off tool parts. Verify compliance between parts and drawings.4.3.4 Re
7、view T1 Report and agreed upon required changes and time to complete. Report results as part of EP Report.4.3.5 Verify views and accuracy of Instruction Manual.4.3.6 Verify BOM accuracy.4.3.7 Verify Artwork is correct and accurate.4.3.8 Review final packaging and report any noted issues or recommend
8、ations / concerns.4.3.9 Compare EP units to CFR / Workmanship Standards.4.3.10 Perform functional test (Use as a consumer would).4.3.11 Review and comment on final engineering prototype models. Report any noted issues or recommendations.4.3.12 Conduct a cross-build of EP units to confirm fit and fun
9、ction and process capability of processes to produce components from tooling. Report any issues or recommendations.4.3.13 Submit samples to certification / third party testing as required and requested.4.4 Factory/Supplier4.4.1 To provide Product Engineering -Asia Operations with documentation (draw
10、ings) referencing completed tooling / process plan relating to the model being reviewed.4.4.2 To conduct internal review of model and provide comments to Product Engineering -Asia Operations and US NPDT.4.4.3 For all off tool components complete metrology reports and provide First Piece Inspection (
11、FPI) documentation to Product Engineering-Asia Operations and Operations Team-Asia Operations.4.4.4 To have available off tool parts and components needed to build seven to ten units.4.4.5 Complete final prototype model prior to EP.4.5 Product Data System4.5.1 To complete the product BOMs and any re
12、visions prior to the ProductionPilot Run.4.5.2 Complete the product instruction manual prior to EP.4.5.3 Release component prints and model files prior to and in support of initial production.4.6 NPD Team - Provide the following in support of EP.4.6.1 Product Description Statement (PDS)4.6.2 Product
13、 Specification Document (PSD)4.6.3 Complete Pro E 3-D files (when applicable).4.6.4 Review and provide comments regarding Prototype Models4.6.5 Complete Product Workmanship Standards and Criteria for Rejection.5.0 Procedure5.1 All parts for engineering pilot should be 100% manufactured off final too
14、ling.5.2 Review suppliers metrology reports and check critical dimensions of the parts perdrawing.5.3 Verify the material, material thickness, and surface finishing of the parts.5.4 Randomly select parts to assemble all units per the Instruction Manual.5.5 Check fit and function of the assembled uni
15、ts.5.6 Compare ALL artwork to required standards, including, but not limited to the following:5.6.1 Graphic and carton art; POP; carton, rating and warning labels.5.6.2 Instruction Manuals5.7 Note any discrepancies between the Product Specification, BOM, Instruction Manual and unit on EP Report Form
16、.5.8 Compare units to CFR / Workmanship Standards.5.9 Perform functional test. (Use as consumer would)5.10 Review final packaging and make any recommendations.5.11 Engin eeri ng Team to work with Operatio ns Team-Asia and supplier factory to determine understanding of critical relationship of proces
17、ses required to manufacture product.5.12 If requested, send samples to responsible US NPDT.5.13 Submit samples to certification and third party testing, as required and requested.5.14 Issue Engineering Pilot (EP) report to respective departments via PDMLink.5.15 Process after Engineering Pilot and b
18、efore Production Pilot and First Production.5.15.1 Operations, Asia Operations shall perform or arrange to have performed the product transit test and provide test report, as required.5.15.2 Supplier shall provide schedule for implementation of required improvements as per the Engineering Pilot repo
19、rt.5.15.3 If required, supplier shall send graphic samples to NPD Team and Product Engineering -Asia Operations for approval.5.15.4 NPD Team Quality Manager shall provide finalized Workmanship Standards and Criteria for Rejection (CFR) documentation.5.15.5 NPD Team to finalize Product Specification.5.15.6 Factory / Supplier to provide final factory quality plan.5.15.7 Product Data Systems Team to complete BOM and any revisions prior to Production Pilot Run.5.15.8 Supplier to complete updated drawings per EP Report prior to first production run.
