Thats/Its really nice of you. 你真是太好了。(一)cause vt. 引起,带来1. cause sth. 引起某事Driving too fast can cause an accident. 2. cause sb. sth. 带给某人某事This car caused me a lot of trouble. 3. cause sb. /

3、sth. to do sth. 引起某人(某物)干某事 His illness caused him to miss the game. 4. cause sth. to sb. / for sb. 给某人带来He often causes trouble to / for people. (二)luckily adv. 幸运地 lucky adj. 幸运的 luck n. 运气1. 4、agine vt. 想象,猜想,料想1. 后接名词或代词 You can not imagine their surprise at hearing the news. 2. 后接 doing sth.Try to imagine being on the moon. 3. 后接从句You cant imagine how I missed you all.(四)Lets move the bag, or it may cause an accident.祈使句+or+句子,其中的祈使句常用来表示一种条件,并且这种句子常可转换为 if 引导的条件状语从句。 1. Be careful with

Come and see him today, or he will be leaving tomorrow. =He will be leaving tomorrow if you dont come and see him today.3. Speak louder please, or nobody can hear you.=Nobody can hear you if you dont speak lo

Lets return the book to the library now, or we will be fined. =We will be fined if we dont return the book to the library now.(五)He did not see the bag until it was too late.notuntil 在句中常被译作“直到才”。例如:1. Im sorry I didnt write to you until now.2. He did not stop smoking until he was very ill.3

7、. I didnt speak of it until yesterday.4. I didnt fall asleep until it was one oclock.5. They didnt start the dinner until Jack came.(六)crowd 的用法作为动词,crowd 表示“聚集”,例如: 1. Many people crowded before the school.2. The pupils crowded round the teacher to ask questions.be crowded with 表示状态,意思是“挤满了”,“充满着”。

8、例如:3. The road is crowded with cars and buses.4. The room was crowded with people.(七)asas one can(= asas possible)意思是“尽可能地”,把形容词或副词放在第一个 as 后面,两种表达形式都可以。例如:1. As quickly as she could/ As quickly as possible, Miss Zhao got a medicine box. 2. The boy ran towards school as fast as he could (或 as fast a

9、s possible).3. You must be as careful as possible/as you can when you do your homework.4. We have to finish the work as soon as we can/as possible.5. He ate as much as he could/ as possible at the dinner.(八)with +名词+介词短语的用法这一结构用作状语,表伴随情况。例如:1. The teacher came in with a book under his arm.2. The poo

10、r woman walked along the street with a baby on her back.3. He always walks with his hands behind his back.(九)On her way back home yesterday afternoon, she was driving faster than usual because she was worried about her little son.1. on ones way to 在去的路上(1)On his way to the railway station, he met an

11、 old friend of his. (2)She bought a newspaper on her way to the post office.但是,on ones way 与 home,there,here 等词连用时,不要加 to。例如:(3)Dont worry. She is already on her way here.2. be worried about 为某事或某人焦虑(1)His family are all worried about him because he always comes back home late. (2)Dont be too worrie

12、d about your lessons. You have to get strong first.(十)Soon the lady came to e to oneself 恢复正常1. She came to herself after she was brought to a hospital.2. Give her some coffee with sugar in it and she will soon come to herself.(十一)It is +形容词+(for sb.)to do 与 Its +形容词+of sb + to do sth.It 是形式主语,(for

13、sb.)+ to do 是逻辑主语和真正的主语,如要强调不定式动作的执行者,就在不定式前面加 for sb.,形容词表示的是整个不定式的情况是如何或怎样。如:1. Its important for him to study well at school.2. It will be all right for him to go to school.3. Its not difficult for one to do a bit of good.4. It was easy for me to answer the question.5. It will be a mistake for us

14、 not to help them.在以某些形容词作表语时,不定式前的 for sb.常改为 of sb.,这些形容词往往强调人的情况,常见的有:kind, nice, good, clever, foolish, wrong, polite, careless 等。例如:6. Its kind of you to think so much of us.(=You are kind to think so much of us.)7. Its very clever of him not to take the gift.8. Its very nice of you to come and

15、 see me.9. Its polite of him to say so. 10. It was careless of him to make so many mistakes.注:注:of sb.之前的形容词往往是人性的,即说明人的品质的好坏及自身的特点,如聪明愚蠢,细心粗心等。for sb.之前的形容词往往是物性的,说明事物本身的特点,如可能性、必然性、难易。本单元的重要语法是过去进行时态,when 和 while 引导的时间状语从句与这一时态连用。所以区别 when 和 while 的用法成了这一单元的难点。(一)when,while 都有“当时候”的意思。when 既可表示某一点

16、时间,也可以表示某一段时间 。在 when 引导的时间状语从句中,其谓语动词可以是延续性的,也可以是非延续性的,可与主句中的谓语动词同时发生,也可在其后发生。1. I was just reading a book when she came into my room.2. Were you writing when the teacher came in?3. When he was a child he was always trying out new ideas.(二)while 只能表示某一段时间,不能表示某一点时间。在 while 引导的时间状语从句中,其谓语动词只能是延续性的,而

17、且也只能与主句中的谓语动词同时发生或存在。1. While Jim was mending his bike, Lin Tao came to see him.2. You cant do your homework while youre watching TV.(三)另外,when 和 while 的区别还在于:while 引导的时间状语从句多用进行时态,而 when 引导的时间状语从句多用一般时态。例如:1. While they were talking , the bell rang. 2. I was doing my homework when my mother came ba

18、ck home yesterday evening.3. A woman saw it happen when she was walking past.这是一般过去时和过去进行时比较典型的搭配,表示一个动作在发生的过程中,又有另一个动作发生,when 引导的是一个时间状语从句。(1)Jane hurt her leg when she was swimming . She didnt notice the big rock in the river.(2)Tom dropped his camera when he was passing the bridge.4. While we wer

19、e talking, the teacher came in.这是个复合句。其中 while we were talking 是由 while 引导的时间状语从句。这里 while 表示主句的动作是发生在从句所表示的时间之中。显然,while 所表示的是一段时间,不是表示一点时间。试比较:(1)They were sweeping the floor when the teacher came in.(2)While they were sweeping the floor, the teacher came in.【典型例题典型例题】1.
