People who are interested can then apply for the job by sending in a letter of application o

7、r covering letter (US cover letter) and a curriculum vitae or CV ( US rsum) containing details of their education and experience. A company may also ask candidates to complete a standard application form. The companys Human Resource Department will then select the most suitable applications and prep

8、are a short list of candidates or applicants, who are invited to attend an interview.,3. 10、Memorize the name of the person who will interview you .Nothing could be more embarrassing than forgetting their name or calling them by the wrong name! Decide what you will wear. Get a good nights sleep. Arrive 15 minutes early. This not only shows that you are prompt it also gives you a chance to

11、gain your composure. Be friendly to the receptionist/secretarythey often are asked their opinion!,DURING THE INTERVIEW, Start it off like a winner. Be comfortable. Listen attentively. Avoid nervous mannerisms. Speak clearly. Be positive and enthusiastic. Ask pertinent questions. When it is over, sta

12、nd up, thank the interviewer for their time and shake hands firmly. Be sure to find out the next step.,AFTER THE INTERVIEW, The next day write the interviewer a brief note reiterating your interest in the job. Follow up. If you havent heard from the interviewer within the time frame indicated at the

13、 close of the interview, call them to relay a polite reminder that youre still interested in the job. Ask when they plan to make a hiring decision. If you arent hired. If you continue to be interested in the company, it pays to keep in touch with the interviewer. Often, through persistence, you may

Be sensitive to these concerns, answering all questions in the most positive way to build psychological leverage and position yourself for the offer. Does the applica

16、nt have the ability to do the job? Can he or she manage people? How does he or she relate to people? What kind of a person is this? A leader? What strengths does he or she have that we need? Why has there been a number of job changes? In what areas is he or she weak? How will this affect performance

17、? What contribution has the applicant made? What are his or her ambitions? Are they realistic? Does she or he have growth potential? How will other interviewers react? Should this person get an offer?,INTERVIEW DRESSING,DOS Dress conservatively. Check out what management wears and dress similarly wi

18、thout overkill. Practice good grooming. Do have clean, neatly styled hair. Do have clean hands and trimmed nails. Do bring a clean notepad and pen that works. Do wear shoes you can walk easily in.,INTERVIEW DRESSING,Donts Dont wear torn, soiled, wrinkled clothing. Dont dress casual. Dont wear a lot

19、of jewelry (Men should avoid earrings). Dont wear athletic shoes. Dont eat spicy, offensive smelling foods prior to the interview. Dont wear sexy clothing. Dont wear “cutesy“ ties (i.e. a flashing Mickey Mouse tie). Dont chew gum or smoke. Dont wear a mini-skirt. Dont wear heavy make-up.,Listening T

Managers are trained to interview applicants in a special way. The education and experience of the interviewee are important; yet, equally impor

24、 the interview, during which the manager tries to make the applicant feel comfortable and tells the applicant something about the company. In the second stage, the manager asks the interviewee questions about his education, his background, and his interest in the job. Finally, the manager will discu

25、ss salary and allow the applicant to ask questions about the company. 7) What should a person do in an interview? Try to relax, to be honest, and to be yourself. 42、visual impact! List accomplishments and skills. Lead with your strongest statement of your skills and qualifications . Use a heavy bond, quality paper. Correct all typographical, grammatical and spelling errors. Be neat, organized and professional. Use a laser printer .,Effective application letters

They should express a high level of interest and knowledge about the position. They normally contain four parts in which you should: confirm that you wish to apply and say where
