1、Inviting investments,Interpreting skills idioms and quotation,Idioms 1. 直译法(literal interpreting) 对结构和意义上完全对应的习语应采用对等直译法 保留源语中的结构和比喻 stony heart / have a heart of stone 铁石心肠 as firm as a rock 坚如磐石 To pick bones from an egg 鸡蛋里面挑骨头 Failure is the mother of success. 失败乃成功之母 酒逢知己千杯少 a thousand cups of

3、eeping dogs lie,3. 意译法（paraphrasing interpreting） 英汉语中有许多习语反映各自的民族或者地方色彩，往往具有强烈的文化特征，在翻译中无法直译或者借用，只能就其意义进行解释，采用意译法。 to cry over spilt milk 作无益的后悔（覆水难收） Jack of all trades 杂而不精的人 Fair and spare 正大光明 十拿九稳 to be quite certain of 小巫见大巫 to be nothing compared with,4. 补充法（interpreting combined with paraph

5、直译，保持原汁原味。 如“Knowledge is like the spring water underground-the deeper you dig, the clearer is the water.” 知识好像地下的泉水，掘得越深越清澈。 如果没有现成的词汇或者短语表达，则需要采用意译法，译出implicatures。,引语的两种出现方式： 1）直接引用，不说明出处 “我们要居安思危，有备无患。” We should be mindful of the possible adversity and prepared for the worst.,2） 说明出处 常言道 as the
