11、ent to the LTHS specified in Table 1, according to the appropriate pipe material temperature and the nominated extrapolated long-term hydrostatic strength. 12、ars) 4.2 (10 years) NOTES: 1 The hydrostatic design stress has been based upon an extrapolated 50 year long-term hydrostatic strength, but 50 years should not be taken as the life of the material under service conditions at elevated temperatures. 2 The life expectance of polybutylene pipe is depende

13、nt on use/temperature profiles. The manufacturers recommendations should be sought for applications involving continuous used at temperatures above 70C. 7 CLASSIFICATION 7.1 Classification of pipe Polybutylene (PB) pipe shall be classified according to nominal working pressure at a pipe material tem

14、perature of 20C as follows: (a) PN 10 (Series 8)nominal working pressure of 1.0 MPa. (b) PN 16 (Series 5)nominal working pressure of 1.6 MPa. (c) PN 20 (Series 4)nominal working pressure of 2.0 MPa. (d) PN 25 (Series 3.2)nominal working pressure of 2.5 MPa. NOTE: Selection of class should be based o

15、n consideration of all factors that may affect the operation of the pipe, e.g., temperature of operation, fluctuating pressure conditions and external loading. 7.2 Classification of service condition Polybutylene (PB) pipe can support short-term temperature exposure in excess of 70C as designed and

16、in cases of malfunction for hot water supply as specified in Table 2. AS 5082.12007 8 Standards Australia www.standards.org.au 8 MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSURE ACCORDING TO TEMPERATURE RATING The maximum operating pressure applied to the pipe shall be as specified in Table 3, according to the pipe material temperature rating.

19、S: 1 The manufacturers recommendations should be sought for applications involving continuous use at temperatures above 70C. 2 The pressure rating at 20C is based on serviceability requirements and takes precedence over values calculated. 9 COMPOUND Polybutylene (PB) pipe shall be manufactured from

20、polybutylene pipe extrusion compound complying with AS/NZS 2642.1. Polybutylene polymer shall be precompounded. It is acceptable that precompounded coloured polybutylene be made by blending pigment with a base resin used to produce a compound demonstrated to fully comply with AS/NZS 1462.1 provided

21、that (a) the blend complies with the dispersion requirements of AS/NZS 2642.1; and (b) the blend ensures compliance with all requirements of this Standard including the long-term pressure test at 95C (see Clause 11.2). The addition of the manufacturers own rework material resulting from the manufact

22、ure of pipe to this Standard is permissible. Such rework materials shall be of the same type and colour as the material being processed. No other rework material shall be used. The inclusion of rework material shall be limited to a maximum of 10% to ensure retention of the long-term performance of P

23、B materials. 10 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 10.1 Diameter and wall thickness When measured in accordance with AS/NZS 1462.1, the pipe shall conform to the dimensions given in Table 4. 30、mean outside diameter Dm min. 7 Pipes intended to be joined together by fusion shall have a minimum wall thickness of 2.2 mm. 8 Pipes intended to be joined together by mechanical fittings shall have a minimum wall thickness of 1.6 mm. 31、ngth The length of pipe shall be not less than that claimed by the manufacturer. All measurements shall be corrected for the departure of the ambient temperature from 20C. NOTE: Thermal linear coefficient of expansion of polybutylene pipe may be taken for reference purposes as 1.3 104/K. 10.3 Freedo

32、m from defects 10.3.1 General The defects described in this Clause cannot be completely quantified. Where the presence, size or frequency of any of these is considered to be of concern, arrangements should be made between the purchaser/approving authority/certifying body (as appropriate), and the ma

33、nufacturer. This may be achieved by the provision of acceptable type samples. Where defects are present and the product is submitted for acceptance, the manufacturer should be able to demonstrate fitness for purpose. 10.3.2 Defect requirements Defects shall not affect the performance or function of

34、the pipe in service. Pipe shall be free from blisters and heat marks. Where grooves, wrinkles, rippling, dents or projections are present, the pipe shall comply with the dimensional requirements of Table 4. Pipe ends shall be supplied square, free from chips and rough edges, and shall have sharp edg

35、es removed. 10.4 Toxicity and effect on water Pipes shall comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 4020. 10.5 Colour The colour of purple pipe, stripes or jackets shall be purple, no lighter than RAL 310 70 15, nor darker than RAL 330 40 40 or RAL 310 50 30. NOTE: Information on the RAL colour range m

36、ay be obtained from RAL Deutsches Institut fr Gtesicherung und Kennzeichnung c.V.,www.ral.de. Colour requirements for other colours shall be as agreed between the purchaser and the manufacturer. 10.6 Number and coverage of stripes (if any) Striped pipes shall have a minimum number of four stripes wi

37、th not less than 15% of the external pipe surface covered by the striping material. 10.7 Light transmittance Polybutylene pipe, when stated to be opaque, shall comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 1462.14 with a maximum transmittance of 0.2%. 11 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS 11.1 General Testing of pol

38、ybutylene pipe should not be carried out until the crystalline transformation, which occurs after polybutylene resins are cooled from the melt, has taken place. Pipe should be aged at ambient temperature and pressure for a minimum of 10 days. The Standard is downloaded from Standard Sharing 11 AS 5

39、082.12007 www.standards.org.au Standards Australia 11.2 Long-term pressure test When tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1462.6, at 95 1C, using conditioning times as defined in Table 5, pipe specimens shall exceed the required pressure/time parameter for that point without failure as shown in Table 6.

41、rt-term pressure test When tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1462.6, at temperatures of both 95 1C and 20 5C, using conditioning times as defined in Table 5 at the respective test temperature, pipe specimens shall withstand the test parameters shown in Table 7 without failure. Failure is defined as l

42、eaking, weeping or rupturing of the test specimen. 43、tween the maximum and minimum outside pipe diameters at any cross-section will not exceed 10% of the pipes maximum outside diameter. The minimum coil diameter shall be not less than 20 times the mean outside diameter of the pipe. AS 5082.12007 12 Standards Australia www.standards.org.au 13 MARKING A

44、ll pipes shall be legibly and durably marked with letters of minimum height 3 mm for pipes up to and including 25 mm nominal outside diameter, and 5 mm for pipes 32 mm nominal outside diameter and greater. The markings shall be reproduced in a distinctive colour, at intervals such that the length of

45、 unmarked pipe between marking sets shall be not more than 1 m. The following information shall be marked on the pipe in the order given: (a) The manufacturers name or registered trademark, or both. (b) The nominal outside diameter and metric designation in the form 20 metric. (c) Classification in

46、the form PN 16, as appropriate. (d) The letters PB or the word Polybutylene. (e) The pipe manufacturing standard number. i.e., AS 5082.1. (f) Date of manufacture, giving the year, the month and the day in the form 940115 (i.e., 15 January 1994), as appropriate. Example: The following is an example o

47、f the complete mandatory marking and the order required: TRADENAME 20 PN 16 PB AS 5082.1 940115. Where additional information is marked on the pipe, the marking specified above shall be both preceded and followed by a gap of not less than 100 mm. NOTE: Manufacturers making a statement of compliance

48、with this Australian Standard on a product, packaging, or promotional material related to that product are advised to ensure that such compliance is capable of being verified.
