EN 14215:2003 (E) 3 1 Scope This European Standard specifies requirements for machine-made pile rugs and runners, including a classification for domestic use according to use intensity and luxury. This European Standar

18、d is not applicable to hand-knotted rugs, barrier mats, bathroom rugs or rugs without pile. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. 27、e product or quality and tolerances for the identifying properties. The manufacturer of machine made pile rugs and runners shall provide information on the following in accordance with the terms and definitions specified in ISO 2424:1992: - commercial references; - type of production technique (face

28、-to-face woven, Axminster, Wilton etc.); - type of pile (loop, cut or cut-loop etc.); - type of substrate1) (foam, etc.) and shall declare the values of the characteristics listed in Table 1 using the test methods specified therein. The tolerances of the characteristics shall be in accordance with T

41、se The product shall meet the requirement r 2,0 when tested to EN 985. 8.3 Suitability for use on stairs (runners only) The product shall meet the requirement specified in annex C when tested to EN 1963. 9 Report The report shall include the following information: a) identity, i.e. machine-made pile

42、 rug or runner conforming to prEN 14215; b) identification requirements listed in Table 1; c) level of use intensity class, i.e. light, normal, heavy, intense or intense prestige; d) luxury class, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. EN 14215:2003 (E) 9 Annex A (normative) Minimum requirements for mass of pile per unit area above the substrate and for surface pile density The minimum requirements for mass of pile per unit area above the substrate, SPW, (g/m2) according to ISO 8543

44、 and for surface pile density, SPDc, (g/cm3) are specified in Tables A.1 and A.2. The following equation shall be used to calculate the surface pile density: FDSPT 3- 10SPW =SPDc Surface pile thickness (SPT) shall be determined in accordance with EN 1766.
