It is the UK implementation of EN 60669-1:1999, incorporating amendment A1:2002 and corrigendum January 2
4、007. It is derived by CENELEC from IEC 60669-1:1998, incorporating amendment 1:1999. It supersedes BS EN 60669-1:1996 which is withdrawn. The CENELEC common modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text. The start and finish of each common modification is indicated in the
5、 text by tags ?. Where a common modification has been introduced by amendment, the tags carry the number of the amendment. For example, the common modifications introduced by CENELEC amendment A11 are indicated by ?. The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendment is indicated in the
6、 text by tags ?. Tags indicating changes to CENELEC text carry the number of the CENELEC amendment. For example, text altered by CENELEC amendment 1 is indicated by ?. This BS EN has been given the secondary identifier BS 3676-1:2000 in order to assist users who are more familiar with the previous B
7、S numbering system and to maintain the link with BS 3676-1:1989 which remains a current publication. However, the link with the 1989 version will cease when conflicting national standards have to be withdrawn in 2009-09-01. At that point, it is proposed that the secondary identifier be deleted from
8、this BS EN. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee PEL/23, Electrical accessories. SWITCHES FOR HOUSEHOLD AND SIMILAR FIXED-ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS Part 1: General requirements 1 Scope This part of IEC 60669 applies to manually operated general purpose switches, for a.c. only with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current
45、not exceeding 63 A, intended for household and similar fixed-electrical installations, either indoors or outdoors. The rated current is limited to 16 A maximum for switches provided with screwless terminals. NOTE 1 An extension of the scope to switches for rated voltages higher than 440 V is under c
46、onsideration. ?Unless otherwise specified in subsequent parts, this standard applies to switches intended to be used at 50 Hz.? ?NOTE 2 General requirements for boxes for flush-type switches are given in IEC 60670.? The standard also applies to boxes for switches, with the exception of mounting boxe
