This document is currently submitted
27、 to the Unique Acceptance Procedure. The reasons for amending the published standard EN 14710-2:2005 are as follows: The revision of the EC-Machinery Directive 98/37/EC into 2006/42/EC requires the modification of published European Standards cited in the Official Journal of the European Communities
28、 under that Directive. If no amendment is made by the committee experts, then the standard would be updated with an Annex Z stating that it does NOT meet the requirements of 2006/42/EC. This would result in the standard being removed from the Official Journal and becoming a non-harmonized standard.
29、To keep the published standard EN 14710-2:2005 as a harmonized standard it was carefully checked against the new EC-Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and it was established that EN 14710-2:2005 meets the requirements of the new EC-Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. CEN/TC 192 has therefore decided to use
30、the Type 1 amendment track, which is a simple amendment with the addition of a new Annex ZB only and no technical update other than minor editorial changes (update of Foreword). 1 Modification to the Foreword, 4th Paragraph Delete the existing 4th Paragraph and replace it with the following: “For re

33、tion to provide a means of conforming to Essential Requirements of the New Approach Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Communities under that Directive and has been implemented as a national standard in at least one Member State, co
34、mpliance with the normative clauses of this standard, except Clauses 6 and 7 and Annexes C, D, E and G confers, within the limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the relevant Essential Requirements of that Directive and associated EFTA regulations.
