17、 the title block near the right-hand margin. The note is required where any toler- ance is closer than standard tolerance is especially difficult to hold. The note will be: CRITIC= TOLERANCE. Exposed surface note: in the event the entire outside surface is exposed, a note reading ALL SURFACES EXPOSE

18、D will be shown to the right of the actual-size view. For hollow shapes the note will read ALL OUT- SIDE SURFACE EXPOSED. Radii notes: When a section involves several like radii it is often more practical to detail these by means of a note. This note is to be placed in the lower right-hand comer of

19、the drawing, above the title block. Examples: .XXX R on a l l inside and outside comers. (Use when a XXX R on a l l inside comers (hllets). (Use when a general XXX R on all outside corners. 20、mers.) is applicable to all outside comers.) Section VI1 - Lines and Line Work Weight of l i n e s : Two weights of lines are shown and considered desirable for section drawing. The two weights are heavy and medium light. Heavy line Approx width .O25 in. Medium light line Approx width .O10 in. H e a

The actual widths of the above lines may vary with the type and size of the drawing as long as the proper contrast is retained. To insure proper reproduction it is necessary that all lines shall be uniform and f i r

22、m . Outlines: The outline of the section should be about 2% times heavier than all other dimension lines. Leaders: Leaders are composed of medium light lines, terminated by an arrow head. They should be curved only when necessary. The arrow head should touch the surface view to which the notes or di

23、mension applies. The leader should either precede or extend from the end of the note, and should run parallel to the body of the note for a distance and thence toward the part to which the note applies. Add EXCEPT AS NOTED to the above notes when applicable. As a second choice, it is permissible in

24、some cases to detail radii as follows: XXX R (3). The draftsman should make certain that this method of detailing could not be confused or misread. Typical note. Uniform wall thicknesses, of the like, may be detailed by a TYPICAL note when practical. Examples: .XXX TYP (after dimensions on the drawi

Revisions: A 3/i6 inch diameter circle, including the corresponding revision letter from the revision block, will be shown as nea

26、r as practical and to the upper left of the part revised. Extension l i n e s : A rnedium light line that indicates the distance measured when the dimension is placed outside the figure. Such lines should begin approximately 0.030 inch away from the object and extend O. 100 inch beyond the dimension

27、 line. Center line: A center line is a medium light line in weight and may be used to indicate shape symmetry within applicable tolerance range. Center line should not be used for dimensional purposes unless the shape can be dimen- sioned in no other manner. Dimension l i n e s : All dimension lines

28、 and their corre- sponding dimensions should be placed so that they may be read from the bottom of the drawing. They should termi- nate approximately 0.030 inch from where the dimension or note inserted. If possible, they should be at least 0.380 inch from the outline and uniformly spaced, a t least

29、 0.250 inch apart. The figures should be centered in relation to the dimension line and midway between extension lines, except where there are several parallel dimensions, in which case they should be uniformly spaced, with the dimensions stagged. 31、 Work Cross sectioning: Uniformiy spaced medium light lines used as a graphic illustration of the material. In the case of aluminum, the solid lines run from the lower left to the upper right, and the broken lines from the upper left to the lower right, all the 45 O to the principal axis of the draw

32、- ing. The lines are to be spaced by eye and the distance or space between the lines is constant and governed by the size of the section. The space should range from approxi- mately 0.090 inch on the smaller sections to approximately 0.250 inch on the larger. Figure 16 Arrowheads: Dimension lines sh

33、ould end with carefully made arrowheads. The desired standard is one with a sharp point that touches the extension line and has a flat back. The ratio of length to width should be between 3 and 4 to 1. Ail arrowheads on the same drawing should be nearly the same size as possible. Figure 17 Fd points

34、. All focal points of radii or diameters should be indicated by a neat dot about 0.030 inch diameter. 37、e, extended, vertical, gothic style letter. The lettering shall be evenly spaced and of sufficient solidness to permit good reproduction. Generally a letter than - with a width of 1% times its height is considered a good 11 in. x 17 in. All sizes - should be slightly more extended in width. Height:

41、w of the extrusion that is perpendicular to the length. This will be the principal and only view of the product with the exception of stepped extruded shapes. In the case of stepped extruded shapes the drawing will depict two or more cross-sectional areas and their relationship to each other. Enlarg

42、ement of view: The preferred scale for section drawings is actual size. When the drawing would be so small that the detailing would not be clear, an enlarged drawing should be made. Sections and portions of sections should be drawn to the following scales: 1-2-4-8-32 times actual size. Listed below

44、Whenever the principal view is enlarged, it becomes necessary to show also an actual-size view. Whenever possible this view is to be placed at the top center of the sheet; however, exceptions are permitted where space is not available. General arrangement of view: Whenever possible the view should b

45、e placed the same as shown on the drawing submitted by the extrusion user. However, when no drawing is submitted, the draftsman should place view so that the finished drawing has an appearance of balance and is easily read. No portion of a section or its details should be closer than one inch from t

46、he top or left hand margin so that clips, punch holes, etc. will not obliterate vital dimensions or part of the shape. Assembling shapes: When an extruded shape assembles with another extrusion, the manner of assembly should be indicated by phantoming in the other extrusion on the actual-size view a

47、nd the extrusion identified by use of an assembly note. Auxiliary views: Should a portion of the section be of such contour that it is not possible to d

48、etail clearly in the scale used (see “Enlargement of View”), decision can then be made by the draftsman as to the advisability of showing an enlarged or exaggerated view in a scale which permits proper detail and definition pf the subject.
