The objective of this Standard is to providea hygienicurinal which meets minimum performance requirements. The term norma

11、tive has been used in this Standard to definethe application of the appendix to which it applies. A normative appendix is an integral part of a Standard. 28、e permanent outward fall in the walls of a urinal slab or stall to ensure adequate cleansing of walls. 1.4.2Channel (drain)the drainage area with fall to a waste outlet, or outlets. 1.4.3Componenta part or a subassembly of parts, that contributes to the construction of a total assembly by choice or

29、design and which may offer variations of fitment for the application to the major element of the product, whether produced by the same manufacturer or not. The component shall be deemed a vital part of the total assembly and shall not inhibit the product from complying with the relevant Australian S

30、tandard, or the appropriate specification, when submitted for type testing. 1.4.4Outlet gratea removable raised grating to prevent entry of foreign solids into the waste pipe. 31、 stainless steel or other non-corrosive material positioned over the channel of the urinal. 1.4.6Single stall urinaldesigned for single person usage, wall mounted or to floorlevel. 1.4.7Tiling flangean upstand on one or more sides of a urinal to provide a waterproof seal between the urinal and wall.

32、 1.4.8Water servicing weira water supply located along the top edge of the urinal wall and formed to release water to wash walls and wall ends. 1.5DESIGN 1.5.1General requirementsThe general requirements are as follows: (a)Preferred dimensionsModular dimensions are preferred for length and width in

33、accordance with AS 1234. (b)Urinal typesUrinals shall be in either a slab, stall, trough, pedestal or wall-hung configuration. (c)TrapsTraps shall have a water seal of 75 +35, 5 mm and comply with features of the relevant Australian Standard. The crown weir of a trap shall be a minimum of 40 mm belo

34、w the waste outlet (see Figure 2). (d)Trap risersThe minimum distance from the water seal to the bottom of the bowl shall be not less than 40 mm and shall not exceed 100 mm. (e)Waste outletsWaste outlets shall be in accordance with the requirements of AS 1589 and AS 2887. (f)Outlet gratingsOutlet gr

35、atings shall have a raised profile and be positively located and removable. 1.5.2Slab and wall-hung urinalsUnits shall comply with the requirements shown in Figure 1, and outlined below: (a)RigidityStainless steel units longer than 950 mm and higher than 600 mm shall be strengthened to ensure no def

36、ormation (before, during or after installation). (b)Tiling flangesTiling flanges shall project a minimum of 10 mm beyond the urinal assembly. (c)Corner radiiAll corners forming junction of walls and sides of walls, and drains shall have a radius of not less than 5 mm. All hazardous forward projectio

37、ns shall have a radius of not less than 5 mm. (d)DrainageThe channel shall have a fall of not less than 1 in 80 over the total length and shall drain unimpeded to the waste outlet. The channel shall be recessed to accommodate the flange of the waste outlet fittingfor drainage purposes. The drainage

38、shall be a minimum width of 150 mm. (e)Waste outletWaste outlets shall be in accordance with AS 3500.2, with a minimum outlet diameter of DN 50. NOTE: Waste outlet sizes can vary in some states. (f)FlushingThe flushing operation shall comply to this Standard. (g)Platform gratingThe minimum width to

39、accommodate standing distance shall be 300 mm. Gratings shall be hinged or removable to allow for cleaning, and of sufficient strength to prevent distortion or collapse. (h)TreadsWhere a tread is formed at step level it shall fall at a minimum grade of 1 in 80 to the channel. COPYRIGHT Accessed by U

(j)Anti-drumThe walls of urinal slabs shall be backed or treated with suitable anti-drum material to minimize sound. (k)HeightThe minimum height from step or tread lev

41、el to the bottom of the flushing outlet of the urinal shall comply with Clause 1.6.1. Specific heights can be adjusted for handicapped persons and children. 1.5.3Urinal stalls (single or adjoining)These shall comply with the following: (a)WidthThe upstanding width of end walls of each urinal stall s

42、hall be not less than 150 mm. (b)Joining of stainless steel stallsJoining of stalls in the trough drain or any other wet area shall be achieved by welding. Stalls may be joined as multiple units with finished end walls by stainless steel strips. For each 5 m of stall an additional outlet shall be pr

43、ovided. Where applicable, Items (a) to (k) shall apply as in Clause 1.5.2. 1.5.4Wall-hung single stall urinalsThese shall comply with the following: (a)ShapeShape can vary, but in all cases the urinal shall be formed to ensure a drainage fall to the waste outlet or outlets and the washing of surface

44、s in accordance with Clause 1.6.2. (b)Waste outletThe minimum outlet size shall be DN 50 for removable traps and integral traps, with removable positively located raised outlet grates. (c)SupportThe support of the urinal shall be in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and shall be capable

45、 of passing the strength test specified in Clause 1.6.3. Brackets or other means of fixing shall be of corrosion-resistant materials. The waste outlet and water supply fitting shall not support the urinal (see Appendix B). Where applicable, Items (a) to (h) shall apply as in Clause 1.5.2. 1.5.5Pedes

46、tal urinalsPedestal urinals which abut a wall shall be supported by a corrosion-resistant pedestal and comply with Clause 1.5.4. 1.6PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS 1.6.1Flushing test for slab and stall urinalsWhen testedin accordancewith Appendix A, the urinal shall flush coloured water over the walls belo

47、w a minimum height of 900 mm above the step or floor level. The flush shall extend to cover the corner areas and end returns for a distance of not less than 70 mm at 800 mm above the step or floor level falling in an arch to a distance not less than 150 mm at the step or floor level. 1.6.2Flushing t

48、est for single stall wall-hung urinalsWhen tested in accordance with Appendix B, the urinal shall flush coloured water over the serviced area 130 mm below the spreader on a spreader type urinal and 50 mm below the weir outlet on a box rim type urinal. 1.6.3Strength test for wall-hung urinalsWhen tes

49、ted in accordance with Appendix C, the urinal shall be capable of supporting the load, and shall not crack or leak. 1.6.4Splash test for urinalsWhen tested in accordance with Appendix D, these urinals shall not splash water onto the floor. 1.7INSTALLATIONThe manufacturer shall ensure the necessary safeguards and instructions for protection and handling during transport and storage and shall supply detailed handling and fixing instructions.
