Where a manufacturer evaluates a series of devicesthat are ident

6、ical, except forthe inlet sizesand length. the manufadurershall furnishthree (3) production quality devices of each outlet size having the smallest inlet and longest length. The tests shall be run in the order described in the standard on one (1) device. The manufacturer shall be permitted to provid

7、ethedeviceswiththefoulingwire applied tothe anti- siphon device as required in 3.1 1. The testing agency shall select one of each type, or model, and inlet/outlet size for full test. Assembly and installationdrawings and otherdata needed to enable atesting agencytodetermine compliance with this stan

8、dard shall accompany devices when submitted for examination and performance testing under this standard. Failure of the device to pass all tests shall be cause for rejection of that type or model and size until the manufacturer has corrected the fault and submitted new devices for testing. Vacuum Br

Aufornatic Draining Type ASSE#i”Oi”9 - 2004 3 3.4 -1 Purpose The purpose ofthis test is to determine if the device withstands pressures that equal two (2) times the maximum rated working pressure or two (2) times the manufacturers rated working pressure, whiche

10、ver is greater. 3.f 2 Procedure The device shall be installed in the open position on the test system, as shown in Figure I, with the inlet connected to an ambient water supply and throttling valve #I open. The device shall be purged of air, and then throttling valve #I closed. The device shall be p

11、ressurized to 250.0 psi (I 723.8 kPa) or two (2) times the manufacturers maximum rated working pressure, whichever is greater. The pressure shall be held for not less than five (5) minutes. 12、eakage shall result in the rejection ofthe device. 3.2.4 Purpose The purpose 5fthis test is to determine the pressure losses at vari5us rates offl5ws 3.2.2 Procedure The device shall be installed in the open position in a test system (see Figure I) that is equipped with the means f5r accurately meas

13、uring the rate of ambient water flow and pressure loss acr5ss the device. This system shall be adequate to meet the requirements of Table 1. After purging the system of air, the throttling valve shall be closed. The throttling valve shall then be slowly opened until the 25.0 psi (I 72.4 kPa) pressur

15、he device continues to function without leakage when exposed to the maximum rated temperature and pressure. 33.2 Pr5eedure Install the device as in Figure 2. 16、a pressure of 125.0 psi (861.9 kPaj orthe manufacturers maximum rated pressure, whichever is greater, shall be circulated at a flow rate per Table 1 through the device for eight (8) hours per day for a total of ten (1 0) days. 18、ration of performance upon the completion of five thousand (5000) cycles. 3.4.2 ProCX2dUFe Thedeviceshall be installed atasourceofambientLvaferwhich shall provide -325.0 psi (861.9 kPaj static pressure at the inlet when the device shut-off valve is closed. The device shall be provided a flow restric

19、tor at the outlet limiting flow to 8.0 GPM (0.5 Lis). 3.4.2.1 Dweil Time The dwell time for the device full open and full closed configuration shall range from two to four (2-4) seconds each. The openlclose dwell time shall be equal forthe five thousand (5000) cycles. 3.4.2.2 Teat Equipment The test

20、 equipment shall apply a closing torque to the device necessary to produce a seal forthe shut-off valve plus IO?%. Theopeniclose rateofthetestequipmentshall not be lessthan 30 r.p.m. or exceed 90 r.p.m. for screw-type shut-off valves. 3.43 CFitWh Failure of device to comply with the remaining sectio

21、ns ofthis standard shall result in a rejection of the device. 3.5.3 Purpose The purpose ofthis test is to determine if the device continues to function without leakage when subjected to a pull of 100.0 pound ( 45.4 kg) on a hose applied perpendicular to the device. 3.5.2 Procedure Withthedeviceinsta

22、lled, as in Figure3 andthedeviceflange issecurelysuppoedsuchto prevent loading (bending)thetube, applya load equivalenttoa pulloflOO.O pound (45.4 kg) in adirection at right angles to the axis through the hose connections at the outlet ofthe device and hold for not less than three (3) minutes. 24、.i Purpose The purpose ofthis test is to determine if the device is capable of discharging 3.0 gallons (1 1 .4 liters) of water in subfreezing climates. 3.6.2 Procedure Refer to Figure 4. The device shall be installed per the manufacturers instructions with the inlet ofthedeviceatambientroomtemperat

25、ureconnectedtoanambientwatersupply, and theoutlet within the cold chamber. The surface ofthe device in the cold chamber shall be maintained at 0 “F (-17.8 “Cl or lower during the test to simulate an actual installation in a sub-freezing climate, With the hose attached, the device shall be turned to

Shut-off 3-63 Criteria Failure of the Type A or (9 device to discharge 3.0 gallons (1 1.4 liters) of water with the hose removed sha

Failure of the Type 5 device to discharge 3.0 gallons (Ti 1.4 liters) of water with the hose removed or with the hose and spring loaded nozzle attached shall result iif a rejection of the device. Type A, B, ai-td C devices shall show no sign of external damage

29、. 3 . 7 . 1 Purpose The purpose of this test is to determine if any contaminated water is transmitted back into the potable water system when subjected to backpressure. 3.7.2 Procedure Install the device in the open position as in Figure 5 with the atmospheric vent(%) and vent port sealed closed, a

30、transparent tube connected to the inlet, and a hose csni-tected to the outlet. The hoseshall befilled with waterand theoutlet end raisedtoanelevationto produce6.0 inches(152.4 mm) water G5IUMi-t at the outlet ofthe device. Hold for not less than 5 minutes and observe the transparent tube for presenc

31、e of water. Repeat the test, leaving the device in the open position, withthewatercolumn increasedto24.0 inches (609.6 mm). 33、t opening relieves the outlet pressure when the supply pressure drops to O psi (O kPa). 3.8.2 Procedure Thedeviceshall beinstalled inatestsystem asshswn in Figure6. The hoseconnectedtotheoutlet of the device shall be li2 NPHS, 25.0 feet (7.6 meters) in length and having a nozzle on its discharge end

34、. Pressurize the system to 1225.0 psi (861.9 kPa) or the manufacturers maximum rated working pressure, whichever is greater. The nozzle shall be opened to purge the line of air and then shall be closed slovly. The supply valve shall be closed and then a quick-acting valve shall be opened to drop the

35、 pressure in the inlet of the device to O psi (O kPa). The hose connected to the outlet of the device shall

37、be li2 NPHS inside diameter, 25.0 feet (7.6 meters) in length and having a nozzle on its discharge end. Pressurize the system to 125.0 psi (86I.9 kPa) or the manufacturers maximum rated working pressure. whichever is greater. The nozzle shall be opened to purge the line of air and then shall be clos

38、ed slowly. The supply valve shall be closed and then a quick-acting valve shall be opened to drop the inlet pressure of the device to O psi (O kPaj. Disconnectthe inlet piping and hold for twelve (I 2) hours observing for leakage at the device inlet. 3-93 Criteria Any leakage through the check valve

39、 into the inlet of the device shall result in a rejection of the device. 3,18.1 Purpose The purpose ofthis test is to determine if there is leakage from the atmospheric vents. 3.38.2 Procedure Thedeviceshall be installed inthetest system in a closed position (seeFigure If. Thethrottlevalve shall be

40、opened, the supply valve shall be opened to provide 10.0 psi (63.0 kPa) to the device. Open the device to full flow. 3,18.3 Criteria Any leakage at the vent pods at full flow shall result in a rejection ofthe device. 3.1 1.1 Purpose The purpose ofthis test is to determine if contaminated water is si

41、phoned back into the potable water system. 3.1 1 2 Procedure The device shall be installed in the open position as in Figure T . The check valve shall be fouled with a 0.032 inch (0.81 mmf diameter fouling wire (see Figures 8. 9, 1 0. 1 I, 121. The equipment shall be capable ofdeveloping a vacuum of

42、 at least25.0 inches (635.0 mm) mercury column. Tests shall be conducted in sequence as follows: (a) Apply slowly and hold a vacuum of 25.0 inches (635.0 mm) mercury column for five (5) minutes, then slowly reduce the vacuum from 25.0 to O inches (6350 to 0 mm) mercury col um n .
