11、0, Refrigerated display cabinets, Part 1: Terms and definitions. After consultation with stakeholders in both countries, Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand decided to develop this Standard as an Australian, rather than an Australian/New Zealand Standard. This Standard incorporates Amendme

12、nt No. 1 (December 2005). The changes required by the Amendment are indicated in the text by a marginal bar and amendment number against the clause, note, table, figure or part thereof affected. 17、ndard Refrigerated display cabinets Part 1: Terms and definitions 1 SCOPE 1.1 Scope of Standard This Standard specifies terminology, general mechanical and physical requirements, test conditions as well as installation and maintenance, for commercial refrigerators and freezers used for the sale or d

18、isplay of food products including beverages. This Standard does not cover refrigerated vending machines, ice-makers, cabinets intended for use in catering and similar non-retail applications. 1.2 Scope of Part 1 This Part of the AS 1731 series of Standards specifies terms and definitions for refrige

19、rated display cabinets for the sale and display of foodstuffs. 2 OBJECTIVE The objective of this Standard is to provide unified terminology for refrigerated display cabinets, for use by manufacturers, suppliers, purchasers, operators and regulators of these systems. 3 REFERENCED DOCUMENTS The follow

21、d, the definitions below apply. 4.1 Cabinet designations 4.1.1 Cabinet types A classification of the refrigerated display cabinet families is given in AS 1731.6. 4.1.1.1 Assisted service refrigerated display cabinet/serve-over counter A refrigerated display cabinet which requires that a person serve

22、s the consumer with fresh cut or packed foodstuffs. 4.1.1.2 Closed refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet where access to the foodstuffs is gained by opening a door or lid. 23、3 Combined refrigerated display cabinet with glass door top A refrigerated display cabinet made of a refrigerated bottom, open or with glass lid, and a glass door refrigerated top. 4.1.1.4 Combined refrigerated display cabinet with open top A refrigerated display cabinet made of a refrigerated botto

24、m, open or with glass lid, and an open refrigerated top. 4.1.1.5 Back wall service cabinet A refrigerated cabinet in assisted service, placed behind the serving personnel, with or without an added back storage (see Figure 1). 4.1.1.6 Horizontal refrigerated display cabinet/counter A refrigerated dis

25、play cabinet with horizontal display opening on its top and accessible from above. 4.1.1.7 Island refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet to be placed inside the sales area so that the consumer has access to all sides. 4.1.1.8 Liftable front cabinet/roll in cabinet A type of cabi

26、net which enables goods to be displayed directly on their pallets or rolls which can be placed inside by lifting or removing the lower front part, where fitted. 4.1.1.9 Multi-temperature combined refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet with different temperatures for chilled or f

27、rozen foodstuffs in the top and the bottom. 4.1.1.10 Refrigerated display cabinet A cabinet cooled by a refrigerating system which enables chilled and frozen foodstuffs placed therein for display to be maintained within prescribed temperature limits. 4.1.1.11 Self service refrigerated display cabine

28、t/self service counter A refrigerated display cabinet from which the consumer selects the prepacked foodstuffs. 4.1.1.12 Semi-vertical refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet whose overall height does not exceed 1.79 m and with either vertical or inclined display opening. 4.1.1.1

29、3 Serve-over counter with integrated storage A refrigerated display cabinet for assisted service including refrigerated storage which is normally placed in its base. 4.1.1.14 Vertical refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet, either semi-vertical (see Clause 4.1.1.12), multi-deck,

30、 roll in or glass door. 4.1.1.15 Wall site refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet to be placed along a wall of the sales area. 4.1.1.16 Multi-deck refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet whose overall height is greater than or equal to 1.79 m and where no phy

31、sical barrier to access of the food stuffs is present. NOTE: Refer to AS 1731.142003 Appendix A, Table A1 for further details. 32、hown in Figure 1. 4.1.2.1 Island run A shop around line of multiplexed cabinets possibly provided with an end cabinet (see Figure 1. 4.1.2.2 Internal angle A cabinet that ensures the geometrical continuity between two cabinets whose extremities form an angle comprised between 0 and 90 (see Figure 1)

33、. 4.1.2.3 External angle A cabinet that ensures the geometrical continuity between two cabinets whose extremities form an angle comprised between 0 and 90 (see Figure 1). 4.1.2.4 End wall A panel closing a cabinet or a line up; the side of a line up (see Figure 1). 4.1.2.5 Line up/run A line made up

34、 of multiplexed modular refrigerated cabinets even if not in a straight segment (see Figure 1). 4.1.2.6 Technical line up/zone A line made up of multiplexed modular refrigerated cabinets even if not in a straight segment but with safety and temperature control devices (see Figure 1). 4.1.2.7 Wall ca

35、binet A cabinet intended to be located back to a wall or back to back (see Figure 1). 4.1.2.8 Island cabinet A shop around cabinet/cabinet intended to be multiplexed as a part of an island run. 4.1.2.9 End cabinet A cabinet intended to be located at the end of an island run. 4.1.3 Consumer and servi

36、ng personnel 4.1.3.1 Consumer The purchaser or the end user of the goods. 4.1.3.2 Serving personnel Store personnel for preparing and serving goods for consumers. 37、APES 4.2 Parts of refrigerated display cabinets The following definitions are shown in Figure 2. 4.2.1 Air discharge An opening where the air curtain comes out. 4.2.2 Air return An opening where the air curtain flows back inside the cabinet air ducts. 4.2.3 Shelf Surface on which the goods are displ

38、ayed excluding the base deck. 4.2.4 Price marking rail/ticket holder A profile fitted along the cabinet shelves which enables different types of labels for consumer information to be applied. 4.2.5 Kickplate A vertical plate of plinth that covers the gap between the floor and base of the cabinet. 40、over, or curtain to be pulled on the cabinet display opening in order to close it and which can be moved automatically. 4.2.8 Canopy The upper front part of a vertical cabinet. 4.2.9 Front panel(s) Group of aesthetic pieces of the cabinet front, visible by the consumer. 4.2.10 Front The side of the

41、cabinet facing the consumer, or, in the case of an island cabinet, the side on which the manufacturer affixes his identification plate. 4.2.11 Front riser A device to retain the goods within the display surface. 4.2.12 Handrail The upper front profile covering the edge that is normally touched by th

42、e consumer. 4.2.13 Condensing unit A combination of one or more compressors, condensers and liquid receivers (when required) and the regularly furnished accessories. 4.2.14 Base deck The lowest display surface of a cabinet. 4.2.15 Shelf sham A device to limit the loading of a display surface. 4.3 Di

43、mensional characteristics 4.3.1 Display Space where the consumer can see the goods offered by the cabinet. 4.3.2 Display opening area Area obtained by multiplying the smallest length and width (or height as appropriate) for the opening area of the refrigerated cabinet. 4.3.3 Gross volume Volume with

44、in the inside walls of the cabinet or of a compartment without internal fittings, doors or lids if any being closed, the load limit being taken into account if the cabinet has not door or lid. 4.3.4 Load limit For each part of the cabinet, boundary surface consisting of a plane or several planes wit

45、hin which all test packages can be maintained within the limits for the M-package temperature class declared. 4.3.5 Load limit line Boundary line permanently marked denoting the edge of the load limit surface. 48、(b) opening and closing of doors and other devices for access to foodstuffs or which allow foodstuffs to be loaded; and (c) evacuation of defrost water. 4.3.9 Refrigerated shelf area Display area where the vertical clearance above any shelf or base deck is higher than or equal to 100 mm , measured p

49、erpendicularly above the plane of the shelf or base deck and within the bounds of any load limit. 4.3.10 Total display area (TDA) Total visible product storage area, including visible area through the glazing, defined by the sum of horizontal and vertical projected surface areas of the net volume.
