It is identical with ISO 9242:1988 “Pliers and nippers Construction worker
8、s pincers Dimensions and test values”, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). As work continues in ISO the number of tools covered by this standard will increase. BS 3087-10 covers those tools in BS 3087:1959 (withdrawn) that were not standardized by ISO because their
9、 style and application were exclusive to the UK. The Technical Committee has reviewed the provisions of ISO 5744, to which reference is made in the text, and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this standard. A related British Standard to ISO 5744:1988 is BS 3087-4:1988.
10、 It is recommended that pliers, pincers and nippers should be legibly and indelibly marked with a name, trademark or the manufacturing code that will allow traceability. BS 3087-121) should be marked either on the tool or on its associated packaging. A British Standard does not purport to include al

The general technical requirements ar
16、e given in ISO 5743. If the distance L1 is not suitable for the load test, the following formula may be applied: The cutting force F1 and the diameter D of the test wire shall not
