Common Name: mefluidide 1.1 The word “mefluidide” (pronounced ma-flii-add) has been accepted as the American National Standard Common Name for the chemical N- 2,4dimethyl-5- (tri fluoromethyl)sulfonyl amino phenyl acetamide .l 1.2 Acceptance signifies compliance with American Na- tional St

3、andard Procedure for the Acceptance of an American National Standard Common Name for a Pest Control Chemical, K62.1-1974. 2. Use of Common Name 2.1 The common name applies to the 100% pure chem- ical. 2.2 Technical grades and formulations shall indicate the percentage of mefluidide present; for exam

4、ple, mefluidide - 85% minimum. 2.3 The Sponsor of the common name “mefluiide” has agreed to release and permit the use of the name Also known as 54 l,l,l-trifluoromethanesulfonamido)- 2 ,4-acetoxylidide. 5、 or not manufactured or formulated by it, which contains a pest control chemical conforming to the description set forth in this American National Standard. 3. Limitations Neither the American National Standards Institute nor its committee guarantees or assumes any responsibility that use of this na

6、me in connection with this or any other chemical or product will not infringe on or con- flict with any existing proprietary name, trademark, or trade name. Approval as an American National Stan- dard Common Name constitutes recognition by the Standards Institute that a consensus exists within a rep

7、resentative committee, operating under institute procedures and basing its recommendation on data sub- mitted by a Sponsor, favoring consideration of the use of the name to designate the pest control chemical de- scribed herein by all interested persons. The information concerning the chemical and p

8、hysical properties of the chemical is not a part of the standard but is provided solely as an aid to identification, and the Standards in- stitute does not guarantee its accuracy. 14、 H OF II I S-C-F I H / H / N-C- H I C- H I H-C-H H I H Proposed Uses Mefluidide is intended for use as a plant growth regulator chemical to retard the vegetative and reproductive growth of a large number of turf grass species when applied at the rate of 0.25 to 0.50 pound per acre. It also controls

15、the growth of rhizomatous johnsongrass and other weeds in soybeans. Additionally, it has proved to be an effective ripening agent for sugarcane when applied prior to harvest at the rate of 0.75 to 1 .O0 pound per acre. It may also be used to retard the growth of woody plants, including both ornament
