22、ling customer contacts; disinfection; and conducting flow tests. 5.Additional work to be performed by constructor.Description of work, including repairs to deteriorated pipe; extra thickness of lining over the rivet heads and lockbar seams; excavation, backfill, and resurfacing work at access excava
23、tions; method of opening and closing access openings in the pipeline; supplying, laying, and removing temporary bypass pipe; and operation of main-line or blowoff valves. NOTE: When it is necessary to repair deteriorated pipe before lining, the pipe will be repaired by the purchaser or under provisi
24、ons of the contract between the purchaser and the constructor. 6.Water for cleaning and lining operations.Location of water sources, method of supplying, quantity available, and pressure information. 7.Disposal of cleaning water and debris.Requirements for the disposal of cleaning water, old lining,
25、 and other debris; instructions regarding permits from the responsible authorities. 8.Permissible cementmortar materials.Preference for, or any restrictions on, type of portland cement or admixtures to be used in lining mortar. (100 mm) AND LARGER3 2.Manufacturer:The party that manufactures, fabricates, or produces materials or product. 3.Purchaser:The person, company, or organization that purchases any materials or work to be performed. SECTION 4:REQUIREMENTS Sec. 4.1Workmanship Work shall be performed by traine
41、d personnel under the supervision of experienced persons skilled in the application of cementmortar lining to pipelines in place. Sec. 4.2Equipment The constructors equipment for cleaning, applying, and troweling cement mortar in the pipe and for curing the cementmortar lining shall be so designed a
42、nd manufactured and in a condition to permit the workers to follow the procedure and obtain the results prescribed in this standard. Sec. 4.3Materials for Construction 4.3.1Materials.Materials shall comply with the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act and other federal requirements. 4.3.2Port
43、land cement.Portland cement shall conform to the requirements of ASTM C150 for type I or type II cement, or as otherwise specified by the purchaser. 4.3.3Admixtures.To improve workability, density, and strength in the mortar, admixtures conforming to ASTM C494 may be used at the option of the constr
44、uctor, unless otherwise required by the purchaser, provided that the ratio of admixture to portland cement does not exceed that used in the qualification tests of ASTM C494. No admixtures shall be used that would have a deleterious effect on potable water flowing in the pipe after the lining has bee
45、n placed. 4.3.4Sand.Sand shall consist of inert granular material. The grains shall be strong, durable, and uncoated. The sand shall be well graded and shall pass a No. 16 mesh screen, with not more than 5 percent passing a US Standard Sieve No. 100. (For screen and sieve sizes, refer to ASTM E11.)

47、ights Reserved. 4AWWA C602-06 4.3.4.1Deleterious substances in sand.Sand shall be clean. The total com- bined weight of dust, clay, loam, lumps, shale, soft or flaky particles, mica, oil, alkali, and other deleterious substances shall not exceed 3 percent of the total combined weight of the deleteri
48、ous substances and the sand containing them. In addition, the following limitations shall apply to specific substances: 4.3.4.2Organic impurities.Sand shall not show a color value darker than the “reference standard color solution” prepared as required in ASTM C40. 4.3.5Water.Water for mixing mortar
49、 shall be clean and free of mud, oil, and injurious amounts of organic material or other deleterious substances. Potable water shall be used. Sec. 4.4General CementMortar Lining Design 4.4.1Composition.Mortar for the lining shall be composed of cement, sand, and water that have been well mixed and of
