13、s foreshadowed in the foreword to the 1979 edition of Part 1 of the standard, is identical with ISO 355:1977/Addendum 1:1980 “Metric tapered roller bearings Double row bearings Boundary dimensions” prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 4, Rolling bearings, of the International Organization for Stan
14、dardization (ISO). With regard to the reference to ISO 582, it should be noted that BS 3134-1, in which the series designations and boundary dimensions complying with ISO 355 for single row bearings were implemented, also includes chamfer dimensions for tapered roller bearings. It should be noted th
15、at in ISO 355/Addendum 2 reference has been made in error to ISO/R 492 which does not apply to tapered roller bearings. The tolerances for such bearings will be specified in the current revision of that International Standard and have already been included in BS 3134-1. Terminology and conventions.
16、The text of the addendum to the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication, without deviation, as Part 2 of BS 3134. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following. The comma ha
17、s been used throughout as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Where the words “This Addendum to ISO 355” appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as “This Part of BS 3134”. A British Standard does not
18、 purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Other boundary dimensions, which are identical to those of single row bearings of the same dimension series and with the same bearing bore diameter, are given in ISO 355. Tol
