9、Committee at the request of the Ministry of Health. It is intended to provide closely toleranced dimensions for the transmission coupling, commonly described as the “slip-joint”, by means of which the power drive through the handpiece to the dental rotary instrument is transmitted. Observance of the
10、se dimensions will enable manufacturers of handpieces to ensure that a correct fit with the transmission coupling is secured. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Complianc
11、e with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. 13、nd tolerances for the transmission coupling (slip-joint) to which the dental handpiece fits. 2 Requirements The dimensions and tolerances of the transmission coupling (slip-joint) shall be as set out in Figure 1. 3 Marking Driving units manufactured to comply with this standard shall be marked with
14、the following information: 1) The name or trade symbol of the manufacturer, or both. 2) The number of this British Standard, i.e. BS 4222.
