EN 474-2:2006 (E) 4 Introduction This part of EN 474 is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100-1:2003. The machinery concerned and the extent to

、which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of t

、he other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. EN 474-2:2006 (E) 5 1 Scope This part of EN 474 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to wheel and crawler tractor-dozers as defined in EN IS

、O 6165:2006, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). This part also deals with rear-mounted winches for use on tractor-dozers. The requirements of this part are complementary to the common requirements formula

、ted in EN 474-1:2006. This part does not repeat the requirements from EN 474-1:2006, but adds or replaces the requirements for application for tractor-dozers. This part specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards, hazardous situation

、s and events during commissioning, operation and maintenance of tractor-dozers. This European Standard is not applicable to tractor-dozers manufactured before the date of publication of this European Standard by CEN. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the

、ttachment (working tool) component or assembly of components, which can be mounted onto the base machine or equipment (see ISO 6746-1:2003 and ISO 6746-2:2003) for a specific use (see ISO 6016:1998) EXAMPLES Ripper, scarifiers, winch. 4 List of additional significant hazards See Annex A. NOTE Annex

、A (normative) contains all the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, as far as they are dealt with in this European Standard, identified by risk assessment as significant for this type of machinery and which require action to eliminate or reduce the risk. 5 Safety requirements and/or

、 measures 5.1 General Tractor-dozers shall comply with the requirements of EN 474-1:2006, as far as not modified or replaced by the requirements of this part. 5.2 Operators seat EN 474-1:2006, 5.4.1.4 applies with the following addition: The seat shall meet the input spectral according to EN ISO 709

、6:2000: class EM6 for crawler dozers less than 50 000 kg operating mass according to ISO 6016:1998; class EM5 for wheel dozers; for crawler dozer greater than or equal to 50 000 kg, see EN ISO 7096:2000. 5.3 Rear window(s) EN 474-1:2006, 5.3.2.7 and 5.3.2.9 apply for rear window(s) with the followin

、g provisions: arrangement to defrost the rear window(s) shall be made; the rear window(s) shall be fitted with a motorised wiper(s) and washer. EN 474-2:2006 (E) 7 5.4 Rear-mounted winch 5.4.1 Mounting The means for securing a winch to the machine structure shall be designed to withstand a force of

、twice the maximum line-pull that can be exerted by the rope without permanent deformation. NOTE ISO 19472:2006 should be used as guidance for design of the mounting system. 5.4.2 Controls The winch controls shall be located at the operators station and shall fulfil the requirements stated in ISO 109

、68:2004. 5.4.3 Protection Where a rear-mounted winch is fitted, provision shall be made to allow for protection. Tractor-dozers equipped with a rear winch shall be equipped with adequately sized protective screen(s) (minimum steel wire diameter 6 mm woven wire mesh with a maximum opening of 45 mm x

、45 mm), or equivalent protection between the operator and the winch. NOTE ISO 8084:2003 should be used as guidance for design. The screen width and height shall cover at least: the rear window, for machines fitted with cab; the rear of the minimum space envelope as specified in EN ISO 3411:1999 (see
