This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European C

19、ommission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EC Directive(s). EN 500 Mobile road construction machinery Safety comprises the following parts: Part 1: Common requirements; Part 2: Specific requirements for road-milling machines; Part 3: Specific requiremen

20、ts for soil stabilization machines; Part 4: Specific requirements for compaction machines; Part 5: Specific requirements for joint cutters; Part 6: Specific requirements for paver-finishers. 25、I 08-19993 0 Introduction This Part of EN 500 contains additional requirements to EN 500-1:1995 Common requirements. The clauses of this standard have the same numbering as those of EN 500-1:1995. 1 Scope This Part of EN 500 specifies the safety requirements for joint cutters as defined in clause 3

26、and deals with the significant hazards pertinent to joint cutters, when used as intended and in conditions foreseen by the manufacturer. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated references, provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited

27、 at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are listed hereafter. For dated references, subsequent amendments to or revisions of any of these publications apply to this European Standard only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. For undated references the latest edition

EN 500-1:1995, Mobile road construction machinery Safety Part 1: Common requirements. 3 Definitions For the purposes of this standard the following definition applies. joint cutters mobile machines intended for the production of joints in concrete, asphalt and

29、 similar road surfaces. The cutting tool is a rotating high speed disc. The forward motion of the joint cutters can be: manual; manual with mechanical assistance; power driven. 4 List of hazards See EN 500-1:1995. 5 Safety requirements 5.1 Lighting See EN 500-1:1995. 5.2 Design of the machine in rel

31、he cutting tool. 5.7 Stopping Joint cutters shall be fitted with a stopping device, e.g. a parking brake to avoid unintentional movement of the machine. NOTE 1In the case of joint cutters with a service weight less than 100 kg, such a parking brake is not required. NOTE 2Hold-to-run control for the

32、travel function is not required for joint cutters. 5.8 Danger of falling off, access to operators station and to service points See EN 500-1:1995. 5.9 Precautions against hazards caused by moving parts Guards for cutting tools shall be constructed with appropriate materials and shall cover the upper

33、 half of the tool in all directions. The guards shall also be strong enough to stop parts of the tools which could possibly be ejected. Adequate guards are, for example, made of steel, which shall be at least 3 mm thick in the cutting plane of the tool. The guards shall also cover tightening flanges

34、 for the tools (high speed discs). 5.10 Hazards caused by dust emission Joint cutters shall be equipped with a water sprinkler arrangement for wet cutting. The flow of water supplied to the cutting tool shall ensure dust-free operation. 5.11 Fire protection See EN 500-1:1995. 5.12 Hazards due to ext

35、reme temperatures See EN 500-1:1995. 5.13 Signal devices and warning signs The direction of rotation of the cutting tool shall be clearly and permanently marked with an arrow on the guards.
