7、neering Standards Policy Committee and is the English language version of EN 60335-2-26 “Safety of household and similar electrical appliances Part 2 Particular requirements for clocks”, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It was derived by that organi

8、zation from IEC Publication 335-2-26:1987 second edition, which has the same title as the European Standard. The CENELEC Common Modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text of IEC Publication 335-2-26:1987 second edition, and are indicated by a side line in the margin. T

9、he foreword and preface of IEC Publication 335-2-26:1987 second edition and the deleted parts of the original IEC text which do not form part of the text of EN 60335-2-26 have been quoted in National appendix NA. Annexes designated “normative” are part of the body of the standard. Annexes designated

10、 “informative” are given for information only. National appendices are designated “informative”. This British Standard is to be read in conjunction with BS 3456-201:1990 “General requirements”, which it supplements or modifies. The many references to Part 1 should be read as references to BS 3456-20

11、1, which is the English language version of EN 60335-1 which was derived from the 1983 reprint of IEC Publication 335-1:1976 second edition including Amendments 1, 2 and 3 to IEC 335-1. Until 1 January 1991 the Parts of EN 60335 published as British Standards were dual numbered and appeared as Secti

12、ons of BS 3456. From 1 January 1991 Parts of EN 60335 appear as Sections of BS EN 60335. This British Standard supersedes BS 3456-102.26:1988 which will be withdrawn by 1 January 1993 in accordance with the CENELEC Internal Regulations. Cross-references. 13、publications quoted in this standard and British Standards which are either identical or technically equivalent, is given in National appendix NC. Product approval. 24、99 2 Brief history The proposal to endorse the second edition of IEC Publication 335-2-26, document CLC/TC 61 (SEC) 557, was circulated under the enquiry procedure in May 1987. This proposal was discussed during the Neusiedl meeting in May 1988 when it was decided to submit a draft for EN 60335-2-26

25、 to the voting procedure. This procedure started in April 1989. The text of this draft was ratified by the CENELEC Technical Board on the 5th of December 1989. Foreword This European Standard has been prepared by the Secretariat of CENELEC Technical Committee 61. The following dates are applicable:

26、This European Standard replaces HD 255 S2:1983. For products which have complied with HD 255 S2:1983 before 1993-01-01, as shown by the manufacturer or by a certification body, this previous standard may continue to apply for production until 1998-01-01. This document supplements or modifies the cor

27、responding clauses of IEC 335-2-26:1987, so as to convert that standard into the European Standard EN 60335-2-26. This standard has to be used in conjunction with EN 60335-1:1988, Safety of household and similar electrical appliances, Part 1: General requirements, including its amendments A2:1988, A

28、5:1989 and A6:1989. Where a particular subclause of Part 1 is not mentioned in this Part 2, that subclause applies as far as is reasonable. Where this standard states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant text of Part 1 is to be adapted accordingly. Subclauses which are in additi

29、on to those in IEC 335-1 are numbered starting with 101. There are no special national conditions (snc) causing a deviation from this European Standard, other than those listed in Annex ZX of EN 60335-1. 36、s applicable. 18 Endurance This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 18.1 Modification: Instead of the test specification, the following applies: For spring-driven clocks with an electrically-operated winding mechanism and for alarm systems of clocks, compliance is checked by the tests

37、of Sub-clauses 18.2 and 18.6. Other clocks are not tested for endurance. 18.2 Replacement: The clock is operated under normal load and at a voltage equal to 1.1 times rated voltage for 48 h, reduced by the running time necessary for the tests of Clauses 11 and 13. The clock is then operated under no

38、rmal load and at a voltage equal to 0.9 times rated voltage for a further 48 h. The clock is operated continuously or for a corresponding number of periods, each period being not less than 8 h. If the clock incorporates more than one motor, the operating times specified apply to each motor separatel

39、y. 19 Abnormal operation This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 19.1 Modification: Instead of the sub-clauses applicable, the following applies: For spring-driven clocks with an electrically-operated winding mechanism, and for clocks incorporating motors having capacitors in the circ

40、uit of an auxiliary winding, compliance is checked by the test of Sub-clause 19.6. Sub-clause 19.11 applies. Other clocks are not tested for abnormal operation. 19.6 Addition: Clocks incorporating capacitors or resistors to reduce the voltage for the motor are operated with the motor locked and with

41、 the capacitors or resistors short-circuited one at a time. Addition: The winding mechanism of spring-driven clocks is considered to have moving parts liable to be jammed. 20 Stability and mechanical hazards This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 21 Mechanical strength This clause of Part 1 is applica

42、ble except as follows: 21.1 Modification: Instead of the spring hammer adjustment specified, the following applies: The hammer spring is adjusted so that the product of the compression, in millimetres, and the force exerted, in newtons, equals 500, the compression being approximately 13 mm. With thi

43、s adjustment, the impact energy is 0.25 0.05 Nm. Addition: The blows are not applied to spindles of hands or to dial glasses, unless the clock does not comply with the requirements of Sub-clause 8.1 when the dial glass is removed, in which case the blows are also applied to the dial glass. 22 Constr

44、uction This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 22.19 Addition: If coil formers of non-rotating windings are used as reinforced insulation, they shall be moulded in one piece. Coil formers of other windings shall not be used as reinforced insulation. Additional sub-clause: 22.101 The s

45、witching mechanism of clocks controlling radio receivers and of clocks for similar purposes shall comply with the relevant IEC standard as far as is reasonable. Compliance is checked according to the relevant standard. 23 Internal wiring This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 24 Components This clause

46、 of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 24.1 Addition: Switches incorporated in clocks are not required to be switches for frequent operation. 47、ection and external flexible cables and cords This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 25.2 Modification: The requirement that appliances intended to be permanently connected to fixed wiring shall allow the connection of the supply wires after the appliance has been fixed to its suppor

48、t, applies only to drip-proof, splash-proof and watertight clocks, intended to be permanently connected to fixed wiring. 25.4 Modification: type Z attachment is allowed. 25.6 Modification: Instead of the types of cord specified the following applies: Power supply cords shall be not lighter than: if
