10、EN). EN 562 was produced as a result of international discussion in which the United Kingdom took an active part. BS EN 562:1995 supersedes BS 6752:1986 which is withdrawn. Note to national foreword of BS EN 562 The NPT 1/4-18 taper thread has been in widespread use for many years in the UK by manuf

11、acturers of gas welding and cutting equipment for thread connections on pressure gauges. BS EN 562 does not specify the use of this thread and UK manufacturers should change to use G1/4 or R1/4 threads to meet the requirements of BS EN 562. To assist manufacturers in this change, a national annex NC

12、 has been added to BS EN 562 allowing the use of the NPT thread for a limited period. This national annex will remain valid until the new European Standard for 300 bar pressure regulators has been published which will replace BS 7650. Warning. Attention is drawn to the fact that while there is a clo

13、se similarity between NPT 1/4-18 and R1/4 threads there are differences on both the pitch and the diameters. Investigations have shown that if mismatching of these two threads occurs, there is a high possibility of gas leakage occurring. Please ensure that only compatible threads are used together.
