BS 3955 will be progressively amended to delete specific switches at the date of withdrawal agreed. The foreword of the EN amendment 1 to EN 61058
13、-2-1 makes reference to the “date of withdrawal (dow) of conflicting standards” as “1996-09-01”. In this case the relevant standard is BS EN 61058-2-1:1993 but the date of withdrawal relates only to those parts of the British Standard amended by Amendment 1. Certificates and marks will not be awarde

However, such certificates and marks, already awarded with respect to the unamended British Standard may continue to apply to production until
15、 2001-09-01. This British Standard is to be read in conjunction with BS EN 61058-1:1992 General requirements, which it supplements or modifies. The many references to Part 1 should be read as references to BS EN 61058-1, which is the English language version of EN 61058-1 which was derived from the

40、d, by foot or by other human activity, to operate or control electrical appliances and other equipment for household or similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and a rated current not exceeding 16 A. These switches are intended to be operated by a person, via an actuating member or
41、 by actuating a sensing unit. The actuating member or sensing unit can be integral with or arranged separately, either physically or electrically, from the switch and may involve transmission of a signal. For example electrical, optical, acoustic or thermal, between the acuating member or sensing un

This standard also covers the indirect actuation of the switch when the operation of the actuating member or sensing unit is provided by a remote control
43、or a part of an appliance or equipment such as a door. NOTE 1Electronic switches may be combined with mechanical switches giving full disconnection or micro-disconnection. NOTE 2Electronic switches without a mechanical switch in the supply circuit provide only electronic disconnection. Therefore, th

NOTE 4Attention is drawn to the fact that the standards for appliances may contain additional or alternative requirements for switches. NOTE 5Throughout
