、SI EN 61332:1997 BSI 04-20003 1 Scope This International Standard specifies classification rules of soft ferrite materials used in inductive components (inductors and transformers) fulfilling the requirements of the electronic industries. This standard should be considered as a guidance for the desi

、gners of inductive components, allowing them to make a primary selection of ferrite material. The numerical values given in this standard are typical values of parameters (properties) of the related materials. A direct translation from the material specification into the core specification is not al

、ways easy nor possible. Every detailed material and core specification should be agreed between the user and the manufacturer. The definitions of the terms in Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 are based on IEC 50(221) and IEC 401. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provision

、s which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this International Standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All normative documents are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this International Standard are encouraged to investigate

、ency and/or applicable maximum frequency; initial permeability as a function of the temperature; applicable maximum flux density and/or amplitude permeability; power loss at a given frequency, temperature and flux density. 3.2 Main classes Soft ferrite materials may be divided into three main classe

、s identified by two letters as follows: class OP materials are for use at low flux density in open magnetic circuits; class CL materials are for use at low flux density in closed magnetic circuits; class PW materials are for use at high flux density (power application). 3.3 Subclasses Each main clas
