Most forming operations can be successfully carried out at a
8、temperature of approximately 300 C in heating to which temperature a loss in tensile properties of the material up to about 10 % must be expected. This material must not be heated above 400 C, since this would result in losses in tensile properties greater than 10 %. NOTE 2Other forms of material of
9、 this composition are covered by the following British Standards: BS L 508, Bars and extruded sections. BS L 509, Tube. 1 Inspection and testing procedure This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with Sections 1 and 6 of BS L 500. 2 Quality of material The material shall be made from magne
10、sium and alloying constituents, with or without approved scrap at the discretion of the manufacturer. 3 Chemical composition The chemical composition of the cast slabs used for making the material shall be: 4 Condition The material shall be supplied as-rolled or as-rolled and flattened. 5 Heat treat
