9、ng to protective treatment (Clause 5), and identification (Clause 6). 1 Scope These British Standards apply to washers primarily intended for use with screws (2 B.A. and smaller) used in aircraft instruments, and in electrical and similar equipment for aircraft. 2 Materials The washers shall be manu
10、factured from the appropriate material specified in Table 1. 3 Dimensions The washers shall conform to the dimensions specified in Table 2 or Table 3. 4 Finish The washers shall be flat and free from burrs, and may be finished with a small chamfer on the outer edge of one face at the option of the m
11、anufacturer. 5 Protective treatment Brass washers manufactured to BS SP 22 and BS SP 25 shall be tin-plated in accordance with Ministry of Supply Aircraft process specification D.T.D.924. Steel washers manufactured to BS SP 23 and BS SP 26 shall be cadmium plated in accordance with Ministry of Suppl
12、y Aircraft process specification D.T.D.904. 6 Identification The washers shall be identified for ordering purposes by the number of the relevant British Standard as shown in Table 1, together with the appropriate code letter shown in Table 2 or Table 3. e.g., A large cadmium plated steel washer for
