The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO techn
19、ical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely
20、with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2. The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft In
21、ternational Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document
22、may be the subject of patent rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. ISO 10286 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 58, Gas cylinders. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition (ISO 10286:1996), of which particularly the annexes
23、 have been technically revised. They are essentially brought into coherence with the corresponding terms in the 14th edition of the UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods (2005)1). The terminology has been slightly revised and extended with a number of terms connected to composite cy
24、linders. It also gives definitions relatin
26、g to pressures and gases in Annex A and Annex B respectively. In addition to terms in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). Howe
27、ver, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
