This standard is a harmonized specification within the IEC quality assessment system for electronic components (IECQ). In the IEC
4、Q system, this specification is numbered QC 912100. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee EPL/86, Fibre optics, to Subcommittee EPL/86/2, Interconnecting devices and passive components, which has the responsibility to: aid enquirers to understand the text; pres
5、ent to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; monitor related international and European developments and promulgate them in the UK. The specification, along with the appropriate
25、 blank detail specification, defines the requirements and the quality assessment procedures for the subfamily. Type SC-D(uplex) is a subfamily of two-way optical fibre connectors utilizing a push-pull coupling mechanism and cylindrical ferrules of 2,5 mm nominal diameter. 1.2 Normative references Th

29、fied herein and in section 2 of IEC 874-1 apply. 2.1 Classification The connectors covered by this specification are classified as: Type: name: SC-D; coupling: push-pull; configurations: plug-adapter-plug; plug-socket. The single limit (maximum or minimum) mating face dimensions for each connector s
30、et configuration are given in Figure 1 and Figure 2. The detail specification defines the mating face dimensions, arrangement, style, variants, climatic category, environmental category, and assessment level(s). 2.2 Reference components The detail specification shall define reference components when
31、 they are required. 2.3 Gauges The detail specification shall define gauges when they are required. 2.4 Non-flammable materials The detail specification shall define non-flammable materials when they are required. 36、mple procedure When specified, the fixed sample procedure shall be in accordance with 3.3.1 of IEC 874-1. The relevant blank detail specification contains the minimum mandatory test schedules and performance requirements for qualification by the fixed sample procedure. The complete set of mandatory
37、test schedules and performance requirements shall be specified in the detail specification. Upon successful completion of the tests, qualification approval will be granted for the complete range of variants submitted as structurally similar. 3.1.1.1 Sample size The sample size for qualification by t
38、he fixed sample procedure shall be specified in the detail specification. The specimens shall be complete connector sets of a variant for the fibre core diameter specified in the detail specification. In addition, the following samples shall be provided: one specimen of each plug variant to be quali
39、fied by structural similarity to the one used for group “0”; one specimen of each adaptor variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group “0”; one specimen of each socket variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group “0”. Following completion o
40、f the group “0” tests, the specimens for the other groups shall be randomly selected from the group “0” sample. 3.1.1.2 Preparation of specimens Test specimens for kit arrangements shall be terminated using the smallest core diameter specified in the detail specification. The fibre/cable type and le
41、ngths to be used for all arrangements shall be as specified in the detail specification. 3.1.1.3 Testing The tests shall be conducted in the order given, in accordance with the method specified and the specimens shall satisfy the performance requirements of the detail specification. The additional v
42、ariant specimens (see 3.1.1.1) shall be tested to all group “0” tests and shall meet the requirements of the detail specification. 3.1.2 Lot-by-lot and periodic procedure When specified, the lot-by-lot plus periodic qualification procedure shall be in accordance with 3.3.1 of IEC 874-1 (see 3.2.1 an
43、d 3.2.2 for test schedules). Upon successful completion of the tests, qualification approval will be granted for the complete range of variants submitted as structurally similar. 3.2 Quality conformance inspection 3.2.1 Lot-by-lot inspection The minimum mandatory inspection schedules for lot-by-lot
44、inspection are specified in the relevant blank detail specification. The complete set of mandatory test schedules and performance requirements shall be specified in the detail specification. The specimens shall be complete connector sets of a variant for the smallest fibre core diameter specified in t

In addition, the following samples shall be provided: one specimen of each plug variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group “C0” or D0”; one specimen of each adaptor variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group “C0” or “D0”; one specimen of each socket variant to be qualified by structural similarity to the one used for group “C0” or “D0”.
