3、oreword This British Standard is the English language version of EN 81-2:1998, including corrigendum September 1999 and Amendments A1:2005 and A2:2004. It supersedes BS 5655-2:1998, which will be declared obsolescent from 1 July 1999, when the EU Lift Directive is implemented. Until 1 July 1999, new

4、 lift installations can conform to either this British Standard or to BS 5655-1:1986. After 1 July 1999, BS 5655-1:1986, together with BS 5655-11:1989 will apply only for modernization of existing lift installations and for all new installations this British Standard will apply. The start and finish

5、 of text introduced or altered by CEN amendment is indicated in the text by tags ?. Tags indicating changes to CEN text carry the number of the amendment. For example, text altered by CEN amendment A1 is indicated by ?. Corrigendum No. 1, which became effective on 22 September 1999, was incorporated

6、 by BSI in March 2000. The changes incorporated are not indicated in the text of this consolidated version. However, a list is provided in National Annex NA. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 1999, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the

This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s). It is an amendment of the edition 1987 and shall be given the status of a harmonized standard. The amendment is mainly based on the following points: elimination of natio

24、nal deviations; incorporation of essential health and safety requirements from the relevant EU Directives; elimination of obvious errors; incorporation of proposals resulting from interpretation requests dealing with the improvement relative to the progress in technology; improvement of the referenc

25、es to other standards according to the progress in that field. After the CEN Enquiry on prEN81-2:1994 the EU Directive on Lifts (95/16/EC) was adopted. The requirements resulting from the essential health and safety requirements of this Directive being not taken into consideration in the draft have

26、been summarized in the Addendum prA1:1996 to prEN81-2:1994 and submitted to the members of CEN/TC 10 for approval. Having received the approval this Addendum has been incorporated into this standard taking into account the comments received from TC members. This standard does not correspond in all p

27、oints to the present internal rules of CEN regarding the format of safety standards. However, the format of this standard has been accepted by the interested parties and is therefore regarded as the better way of implementation of the essential health and safety requirements than a formalistic re-dr

28、aft. This is mainly because of the coming into force of the EU Directive 95/16/EC on 1 July 1997. With the next revision of the standard, being already intended, this shortcoming will be removed. This Amendment to the European Standard EN 81-2:1998 shall be giv

30、en the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2006. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commis

31、sion and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s). Fore relationship with EU Directive(s), see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this European Standard. The 1998 edition of EN 81-2, under 14.1.2.1.1b)3) and Annex H foresees the use

32、of electronic components in safety circuits thus giving hardware provisions. This amendment extends their use to permit the inclusion of software (programmable electronic systems PESSRAL). This amendment A1 covers those aspects that need to be addressed when programmable electronic systems (PESSRAL)

33、 are used to carry out electric safety functions for lifts within the scope of EN 81-2:1998 and EN 81-2:1998/A2:2004. This amendment A1 covers the necessary additional precautions by replacing the relevant existing text or EN 81-2:1998 or adding new clauses as indicated. NOTE Drafting and presentati
