Both video formats shall be capable of either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. Table 1

3、presents all the permissible scanning systems of this standard. A compliant interface shall implement one or more of these permissible scanning systems. Other scanning structures such as HDTV video formats are outside the scope of this standard (see EIA/CEA-770.3-B for HDTV scanning formats). The si

4、gnal characteristics are defined by a gamma-corrected component set: a luminance video and two accompanying color-difference signals, see SMPTE Standard 170M Section 5. The intended uses of this interface should be: a) For interconnection between Digital Television (DTV) Set top boxes and compatible

5、 television receivers or monitors; or b) For interconnection between DTV compatible Cable TV Set top boxes or Satellite DBS Receiver Decoders, and television receivers or monitors; or c) To interconnect equipment into complete, self-contained analog component systems of relatively small size. The signal set on this interface has no setup, so black level and blanking level are the same. 3.2 Signals The three channels of the interface are designated to carry specific signals as shown in Table 2. 18、 the luminance (Y) and color difference (B-Y, R-Y) signals are first formulated according to the basic equations: Y = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.1 14B B - Y = - 0.299R - 0.587G + 0.886B R - Y = 0.701R - 0.587G -0.114B These resulting three component video signals are additionally specified in Sections 3.3.

19、1, 3.3.2 and 3.3.3. 3.3.1 Luminance Y In the case where all the R, G and B primary video signals are 700 mv, the resulting luminance (Y) signal has a peak video amplitude of 700 mV from blanking level, with zero setup. A negative-going bi-level sync pulse of 300 mV, conforming to the timing requirem

20、ents of Section 7 and Figure 4, is added to the luminance signal as the only timing reference for the Y, PB, PR component set. 3.3.2 Color Difference Signal PB The PB signal shall be amplitude scaled B-Y according to: P B = (B-Y)/1.772 After such scaling, the PB signal shall have a maximum peak ampl

21、itude of & 350 mV about blanking level. The PB signal shall be a bipolar video signal and shall conform to the timing requirements of Figure 1. The dc level of PB during the clamp period shown in Figure 1 shall be at reference black with a voltage level of o v. 3.3.3 Color Difference Signal PR The P

22、R signal shall be amplitude scaled R-Y according to: P R = (R-Y)/1.402 After such scaling, the PR signal shall have a maximum peak amplitude of & 350 mV about blanking level. The PR shall be a bipolar video signal that conforms to the timing requirements of Figure 1. The dc level of PR during the cl

23、amp period shown in Figure 1 shall be at reference black with a voltage level of O V. 4 Impedance Equipment using this interface shall have nominal 75 ohm f 5% input and output impedance. 5 Clamping and Signal DC Content The clamp period shown in Figure 1 and Figure 4 may be used as a dc level clamp

24、 reference. The dc offset, as defined by the blanking level of the signal, shall be 0.0 V k 1 .O V. 6 Component Timing The three component video signals Y, PB, PR shall be coincident with respect to each other within k 5 ns. 7 Horizontal Blanking and Synchronization Each line outside the vertical bl

25、anking interval is divided into an active line period and a horizontal blanking interval. The horizontal blanking interval for the Y signal contains the negative-going horizontal sync pulse. The remainder of the horizontal blanking interval is at blanking level and may be used for signal dc clamping

26、. Horizontal timing for 480i shall be as given in Table 3 and as shown in Figure 4. 30、king and Synchronization 8.1 480i Video Format For the 480i video format, each television frame (one complete scanning of the picture) is divided into two fields. The fields carry every other scan line in succession with succeeding fields carrying the lines not scanned by the previous field. I 50% I

The vertical blanking interval for the Y luminance signal shall contain the vertical synchronizing information surrounded by blanking periods to properly position th

32、e vertical sync and by space allocated for special vertical interval signals (equalizing pulses), as specified in Table 5 and shown in Figure 2. I The vertical synchronization signal shall consist of a nine-line block, divided into three, three-line long segments. The first segment shall contain six

33、 pre-equalizing pulses. The second segment shall contain the vertical synchronizing pulse with six serrations provided to maintain horizontal synchronization. The frame shall be divided into an active picture

43、on an unbalanced coaxial cable with a nominal impedance of 75 ohms. The channel numbering and signal shall be Chl: Y, Ch2: PB, and Ch3: PR. 9.2 Signal Source and Termination Impedance Signal sources shall have an unbalanced output circuit with a source impedance of 75 ohms f 5%. Inputs shall have a

44、load impedance of 75 ohms f 5%. The return loss shall be at least 25 dB. These values are specified over a frequency range of 1 O0 kHz to 15 MHz. 9.3 Signal Amplitude Signal amplitudes shall conform to Section 3. 9.4 Time Coincidence Any pair of signals in the set shall be time coincident with respe

45、ct to each other k 5 ns when used in a component system. 10 Connector and Cable Two different connectors are permissible under this standard. The preferred implementation incorporates a cable and connector arrangement for each of the three parallel signals. 10.1 Connector The primary connector, inte

46、nded for consumer video products, shall be the RCA-type Phono connector (plug and jack). The secondary connector, intended for professional video products, shall be the 75-ohm BNC.
