INTRODUCTION This standard was formulated for th

11、e purpose of describing an easily understood coding system, which has been sponsored and operated by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA) since 1945 for the identification of the manufacturing source and the date of manufacture of an electronic component or equipment. Currently many manufactu

12、rers are participating in the program. A user may determine who. manufactured the component or equipment or when it was manufactured through reference to the EIA source and date code listing, or by direct contact with EIA. The source code was originally part of this standard. The requirements for th

13、e source code are now covered in EIA-476A. 1 SCOPE This standard describes a system for identification of the date of manufacture of an electronic component or equipment through the manufacturers marking the product with a series of numbers known as the EIA date code. EIA additionally provides a sch

If the date code is desired by the customer it must specified in the contractual agreements (purchase order or ordering specification). 2 REQUIREMENTS 2.1 Date Code The date code shall be a four-digit number consisting of the last

15、 two digits of the year followed by an additional two digits corresponding to the week of the year, in accordance with MIL-STD-1285 Date Code. (Example: Date Code 8632 denotes component parts or equipment manufactured during the 32nd week of 1986.) 2.2 Marking The combined source and date code shall

16、 be marked on a component or equipment in a uniform manner with the source code number preceding the date code, separated by a dash; for example: 1 13-961 O. This example identifies the manufacturer as the organization having been assigned source code 113 and the component as having been manufacture

For example, the manufacturer may utilize the week in which production has begun or the week that ha
