This specification covers the rquirenxnts for basecoats of varying technologies that have been enhanced to have sufficient gloss to be used without clearcoat on second

2、ary appearance areas. Gloss enhancement must be achieved by blending au unpigmented version of a given chemistty with its corresponding pipnted basecoat. 1.1 This specification defines 2 types of mskliak L)pe A: Unpigmnted basecoat blended with pigmented basccoat at the glm. Qpc B: Higher gloss base

3、coat supplied ready for use by blending normal hiding basecoat and unpigmented basccoat at the supplier s site 1.2 Application is limited to Class D or E areas per GM4364M, such as door facings or under hood and decklid. Use of this material must be spkkally authorized for indi- vidual vehicle lines

4、 via PAD. documents. Basecoats may be applied as a second coat over normal basecoat, or as the entire basecoat application if color match can be achieved and main- tained. 2 3 3.1 REFERENCED STANDARDS. 5、 D2805 REQUIREMENTS. The mat&al must be identified as follows: a. Supplier Code, Batch b. MSDS C. Formula values for weight solids, volume solids, VOC, and density. d. viscosity c. Target blend ratio with piguxnted basecoat. f. 998xXxX of pigmented basecoat. 3.2 FILM BULD (ASTM D1186). Minimum fii o

Wear is rated in reference to a control, which should be a solids basecoat approved for use in the same area without clean A basccoat/clearcoat system may be designated additional reference point b

No shipment

20、 shall be made by any supplier until npresentative initial production samples have been approved by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 Completed copies of the GM Mat&al Safety Data Sheet and Critical Material Register (available from the engineering department or labo

21、ratory), or equivalent, must be submitted with any new submissions or where a composition change has 6 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. All shipments of material or parts under contract or purchase order manufac- tured to this specification shall be equivalent in evety respect totheinitialsamplesapprovedby

22、engineoring.Themshallbe no changes in either formulation or manufactming processes pcrmhd without prior noti6cation and approval by enginecr- ing. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any shipment. While samples may be taken hm incoming shipments and checked for

23、conformana to this specification, the supplier shall accept the responsibility for incoming shipments ra&ing this speciEdon without depen- dena upon purchaser s inspection. In addition the supplier shall be responsible for submitting a CERTIFICATE OF ANLYSIS with each batch of mamrial arriving at a
