3、;i ) . . 6215401 (g/89) FIGURE 1 - PROOF LOAD TEST SETUP 4.1.2 A load not less than the specified proof load (Table 1A or 1B) shall be applied to the nut in an axial direction without failure of the threads or flange. Speed of loading as determined by a free running crosshead shall not exceed 25 mm/
4、min. The nut shall be removable from the bolt or mandrel by fingers after the load is released. Occasionally, it may be necessary to use a wrench or other mechanical assist to start the nut in motion. This is permissible providing the nut is removable by fmgers following an initial mechanical assist
5、 of not more than one-half turn of the nut. 4.1.3 If the threads of the bolt or mandrel are damaged dur- ing the test, the test shall be discarded. 4.1.4 The threaded mandrel shall be u&d for referee pur- poses. Threads shall conform to ANSI standards for Class 6h (metric) or 3A (inch), except that
6、the major diameter shall be the minimum major diameter with a plus tolerance of 0.25 times the major diameter tolerance. Hardness shall be HRC45 minimum. 4.2 HARDNESS. Hardness shall be determined at the bear- ing surface as shown in Figure 2 (Referee Method) or on a wrench face one-third of the dis
7、tance from a comer to the cen- ter of the wrench face. Plating, coating or surface irregularities shall be removed from the test area prior to the hardness mea- surement.
