1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.PE.021 Polyethylene (PE) High Density, Conductive, Blow Moldable, ASTM Tests 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a high density, conductive, blow moldable polyethyl- ene. 1.1 Symbol. The material abbreviation accord- ing to I
2、SO 11469 is HDPE. 1.2 Typical Applications. Typical applications include the following: vapor vent valve. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. 3、101 ASTM D648 ISO 11469 ASTM D790 2.2 GM Standards/ Specifications. GMW3001 GMW3059 GMW3221 3 Requirements 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. Material suppli- ers must certify molding compound properties to the specific GM Test Sampling Plan approved for their material. 3.2 Requirements on Test Specimens
4、. Impor- tant physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in charts. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of the test methods indicated. Suitable precau- tions
5、 should be taken to ensure that applicable safe limits are not exceeded when conducting test procedures, processes and/or handling the materials required by this specification. Test specimens shall be injection molded ac- cording to ASTM D4101. Test specimens shall be 3.2 0.2 mm thick unless otherwi
6、se speci- fied in this GMP specification. Izod specimens shall be molded or cut from the centers of the 127 x 1.7 x 3.2 mm bars. All test specimens shall be brought to equilib- rium in standard conditions for temperature and moisture and tested in that state as defined in GMW3221 Code A, unless the
7、test method indi- cates that standard conditioning is not required. Condition specimens for a minimum of 24 h prior to testing or until moisture equilibrium is reached. If specimens are tested outside the conditioned environment, they shall be tested within 10 minutes of removal. The minimum values
8、specified in the property tables must be met by test specimens in natural, black or in a standard sampled color if natural or black are not available. For colored grades where other pigment and additive systems (e.g. stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the s
9、pecified minimum value. 14、 for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this specification number have been quali- fied by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 7 Cod
