1、- 9OOb379 OOOLLb3 T42 I GENERAL MOTORS ENGINEERING STANDARDS Materials and Processes - Plastics COPOLYESTER ELASTOMER - 700 MPa FLEXURAL MODULUS GMP.EEBC+PBT.OOl 1 SCOPE. This specification covers the properties of natural and black copolyester elastomer with a nominal flexural modulus of 700 MPa. 1

2、.1 Paintability, Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint On Plastic Systems (GM APGPS) data base. 1.2 Applications. Typical applications include the following: Bumper Fascias. 2 TEST PROCEDURES. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of t

3、he test methods indicated. Suitable precautions should be taken to ensure that applicable safe limits are not exceeded when conducting test procedures, processes, and/or handling the materials required by this specification. 2.1 Moisture content of material when molding and when test- ing apparent m

4、elt viscosity shall be 0.02% max. Measure mois- ture content per ASTM D4019. 2.2 Test specimens shall be injection molded according to ASTM D1897. Test specimens shall be 3.2 f 0.2 mm thick un- less otherwise specified in this GMP specification. All speci- mens are to be molded to the required test

5、configuration. 2.3 Tests shall be conducted 40 h min after molding and im- mediately following a conditioning period of 24 h min at 22 f 3C and 50 f 5% RH unless otherwise specified. All testing shall be done on unannealed samples. 3 COMPOUND PROPERTIES. 3.1 Compound Properties (Natural and Black).

6、See Table 1. 4 SUGGESTED COMPOUND VERIFICATION. Inherent compound properties and test procedures that may be used to identify this material are listed below. Each vehicle group and component division will have its own approved compound list derived from the corporate plastics file. No shipment shall be made by a new source until a sample of the compound manufactured at a

8、production facility has been approved by the appropriate vehicle group and/or component division. Shipment receipt and certification requirements will vary among receiving locations. 5.1 A completed copy of the GM Material Safety Data Sheet (available from a GM laboratory or engineering department)

9、must be submitted with any new submissions or when a com- position change has occurred. 6 IDENTIFICATION. The molding compound shall be identified by the specification code, the manufacturers identification code and lot nnrnber, along with any additional vehicle group and component division requirem

10、ents. 7 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. The purchaser reserves the right to sample incoming shipments even though it is the responsibility of the supplier to meet the requirements stated without dependence upon the purchasers inspection. The supplier (whether prime contractor or subcontractor) will forfei

11、t qualification if a change is made in material, processing methods, testing methods, or location of manufacture without prior written request to and subsequent approval from the purchaser. 8 GENERAL INFORMATION.
